The koi fish part 10

Music filled the ballroom and Ren was holding an empty champagne glass while leaning herself against a wall. Akihiko was standing on a balcony give a speech to all the guests and his parents stood behind him.

You could hear the sound of noblewoman talking about how lovely the prince looked in that outfit. A Japanese elderly man came over to Ren with a smile on his lips. He bowed to her and said, "I am magister Fujimoto and you must be Akihito's assistant". She returned his bow and made a small bow. Fujimoto had two win glass in his hand both of them had a deep crimson liquid inside them.

The prince's speech was finished and he walked down the staircase but Fujimoto younger daughter and her friends blocked his path. His eyes were directed a Ren and the man standing in front of her.

"You would not mind having a drink with me," Fujimoto said, while reaching on of the glasses towards her. She nodded and placed the champagne glass on the table next to her. Ren was about to take a hold of the wine glasses Fujimoto had, but he yanked it towards himself. He stumbled on his words and said, "I am sorry but this glass is for me", while handing the other glass towards her.

"The alcohol level in this glass is much lower," he said as she took a hold of the glass. They clinked their glass together and began to take a sip of the drink. A smile was on Fujimoto lips as he saw Ren drinking the wine. Her nose twist as the toxic taste filled her mouth.

"Have a nice evening" Fujimoto said and walked away from her. She placed the glass on the table and made a small cough. The prince came over to her and said, "Are you alright", while looking at her skin that had turned slightly pale. She nodded and gave him a weak smile.

"Son come over here," his father yelled behind him. The prince walked towards his father with Ren behind him. Fujimoto and his daughter was standing next to the prince's father.

"What is it father?" he said, while making a painted smile. The father took a sip of his drink and said, "Have you come to a decision, my son". A sigh came from the prince and he made a quick gazed at Ren.

"Father I cannot marry Fujimoto's daughter" he said with determination in his eyes. Ren body was shaking as she rubbed her hands together. His father hands made a fist and he said, "What reason is it that make you want to decline this proposal".

"My heart belongs to someone else," the prince said, while making a truthful smile. Ren's eyesight became blurry and her sharp pain ran through her head. The prince father looked at his feet and back at his son.

"And who may this person be" he said, while looking at his son with sharp eyes. The prince took a hold of Ren hand, but his eyes widened, as they felt cold like eyes. He looked down at her and said "It her", while making her take a step forward.

"Are you telling me my son has fallen in love with a commoner" the father yelled out as his head became red. Fujimoto made a smile and said, "My prince it does not seem like the woman you claim to low is alright".

Suddenly the strength in Ren's leg vanished and she was about to fall down, but the prince caught her in his arm.

"Ren, Ren are you alright," he yelled as he looked down at her pale face. She gave him a small smile as the life in her pupils vanished. The prince felt the warmth vanish from her body and her heartbeat vanished. A tear fell from his eyes as he kept on calling the name of the girl he loved.
