The sun was setting as they walked over a bridge in the two. The prince was holding a bag filled with things like a comb, hair ornaments, new brushes, ink and foreign object that had caught his interest. The girl was holding a small pile of books, which the prince had bought.
"Are you sure you don't want me to hold them" he said while looking down into her shining eyes. She shook her head while tightening her grip around the books. The prince made a small laugh as he looked towards the sky.
A splash came from the side and they both turned towards the sound. A simple koi fish was splashing around near a group of water lilies. The girl looked down at the fish with fascination and sorrow. She was standing on the edge of the bridge and the prince place the bag next to him as he looked down at the fish with her. He turned towards her and she felt his gaze.
"What's your name by the way" he asked while leaning his hands railing. The girl looked at him with sad eyes. He felt a sense of guilt and asked "you don't have on do you". She made a slow nod and turned her eyes towards the fish, while holding on to the railing. He pressed his hand against his chin and a smile formed on his lips. His eyes had fallen on the water lilies in the river.
"What about Ren" he said and gazed down at her. Her eyes blinked and she tilted her head. He smiled at her and said, "It means water lily". She looked down at the river seeing the lilies floating around with fish dancing in between them. The prince sighed as she smiled back at him.
"We should probably go home," he said while a sad eyes and fake smile. She tilted her head, but walked after him as he moved through the crowd. The carriage stood further down the road that followed the river. They both jumped into the carriage and it moved down the streets towards the mansion.
