The Koi fish part 8

An hour went by and the prince left the meeting. The prince walked back to his room where he found Ren putting a plated filled with water on his worktable. Flooding in the water was a few water lilies. A pair of incense sticks made a small pink track in the air and the sweet aroma of roses filled the room.

He gazed across his room but could not see Ren. The prince opened the door to the private garden, but she was not there either. All you could see were small animals running around in the trees and on the ground.

He walked away from his room and walked into the main garden of the mansion. The sound of water splashing came through his ear. He walked towards the large pound in the garden and found Ren staring down at the elegant koi fish. A soft smile came on his lips and he walked over behind her.

"This is where we first meet," he said and her entire body jumped. She turned around her heart pounding wildly. He moved his fingers across her hair and said, "My parents wanted to talk to me about an engagement". She tilted her head as a sigh came from his lips.

"I knew it would come sooner or later, but for some reason I couldn't help but say no," he mumbled and the girl squeezed his hands gently. He smiled as he looked into her enhancing eyes. His eyes looked determined and he held onto both her hands.

"Ren I know that we have only been together for a few days, but I think I am in love with you" he said as his cheek flushed. A smile came on her lips and her entire face was crimson red. Without thinking, the prince pulled her closer and whispered into her ear "does this mean you like me too". Her face became redder as she made a small nod. He hugged her as if he would never let her go, but what he did not know was that in the shadows a person was watching the entire scene.

The prince woke up with the sun greeting his face. He rose from the futon and put on a plain black kimono. His eyes fell on the slide door that went into the room next door. He walked over to the door and looked through the small opening. Ren laid underneath her futon like a small innocent puppy.

He opened the door and walked into the room with cat like steps. He sat down next to her and a smile filled his face. Her bangs covered her eyes and he gracefully guided them to the side. She wrinkled her nose as her eyes blinked wildly. The prince smiled as she looked up at him with innocent eyes.

"Did you sleep alright?" he whispered as she rose from her futon. They both stood up from the ground and she had a hand against her chest. Loud noises came from the corridor on the other side of the room. He smiled and said, "We better get ready to part for the winter mansion". The girl made a small smile and nodded her head.

Servant were running around the mansion packing the last necessary things. The prince and Ren walked down the corridor and towards the front door. Akihiko had his samurai sword tight to his side. When they came outside a carriage was waiting on them. They both entered the carriage and it head towards the winter mansion.
