Ian:
It was two in the afternoon, and we were finally ready to leave.
We decided to take Anthony's car only so we could both drive. Since mine was a manual and Anthony couldn't exactly drive a manual, it only made sense. So, we loaded everything into his car, arranging our massive food stock into a wall-looking thing, next to a space with blankets and pillows where we could sleep if we needed more room. And then in the actual trunk, our duffel bags filled with clothes and normal vacation items.
I was standing inside, leaning against the table and thinking about anything else we would need, when Anthony sighed and leaned next to me.
"Are we ready?" he asked.
I shrugged. "Think so. Are you?"
"Yeah, I'm good."
I clapped him on the back and stood up sraight. "Then, let's go!"

Anthony was driving first, which left me to navigate from the passengar seat. We were headed to Vegas, which, according to my phone's GPS, was eight hours and twenty nine minutes away. So, including stops and traffic, I estimated we would get there around 11:30 tonight. We would spend tonight, have all day tomorrow to do whatever we wanted, spend tomorrow night there, and then if there was anything else there we wanted to do, we would the next morning and leave for the next place some time in the afternoon. So, sounded like a pretty good first stop to me.
"So I just stay on I-95 for how long?" he asked, glancing over at me.
"Uh," I looked at my phone, and then at the map, and then realizing I had no idea how to read a map, scrolled down a little on my phone. "Okay, so you stay on here for like, 500 miles, which is almost the whole way, and then yeah I'll tell you when you need to get off. So just drive for like, eight hours."
He laughed a little. "There's gonna be a lot of that this summer."
I shrugged. "We'll make it fun, though."
"You better, 'cause I'm gonna get really pissed if I actually agreed to do this and it's not even fun."
"Anthony, trust me." I leaned back and got a little more comfortable. "This is gonna be one hell of a summer."

About three hours later, we made our first stop. We both had to pee, we needed gas, and we were both hungry but didn't wanna destroy the food wall yet.
So, we got off the highway and pulled into a Speedway. I peed while Anthony pumped gas, and paid for it while he did.
We probably could make a meal out of gas station candy and chips, but decided to find somewhere with real food. So we drove down the street and decided on In-N-Out, only because we wouldn't be able to have it for months.
So, we ordered and pulled up to the window, and the lady working stopped and smiled when she saw Anthony. Her eyes shifted to me, and her smile widened.
"Hey, you're the Smosh guys, right?"
Anthony smiled. "That's us."
"Oh my God! Hi!"
"Uh, hey," Anthony replied, awkwardly chuckling. We got stopped by fans a lot, but never really got used to it. Even after all these years, it was all so foreign. I mean, we were famous enough that girls working the drive thru at In-N-Out recognized us. It was so weird.
"Hey! So, if you don't mind me asking, I saw your video yesterday about, like, taking a break this summer, and I'm just wondering... why, I guess."
Anthony shrugged and looked at me, as if asking me to take this one.
I shrugged a little also. "Dunno, really. It's just a lot of work, and we had a lot going on, and... yeah."
"Oh, alright. It'll be $9.42 by the way."
Anthony handed her a ten, but she kept talking.
"I think it's really brave of you guys to do this. I mean, most big YouTubers would be too scared of losing fans and stuff, but it's cool you guys don't. I mean, I'm a huge fan, and while I'm disappointed you won't be making videos for a while, you deserve a break."
"Oh, uh, thanks," Anthony responded, taking his change.
"Yeah. Well, sorry about this, just thought you should know. It was nice meeting you!"
"You too!" we both answered almost simultaneously, and then he pulled up to the next window and turned to me.
"That was weird," Anthony deadpanned, leaning back in his seat.
"Yeah. Well at least people are supporting us on this."
He shrugged. "Not all of them."
"What do you mean?" I questioned, eyeing him.
He sighed. "Well, I don't know. I was just going though comments and tweets and stuff earlier, and a lot of people are really mad at us. We've already lost like, three hundred thousand subsribers."
"Anthony, stop. You know we'll be able to get them back easily. This summer is about us, okay? It's gonna be the best summer ever. I promise."
"You promise?" he turned to me, smirking.
I rolled my eyes. "Yes, I promise. By the time we reach Vegas, you'll already be having the best summer ever."
And while at the time I didn't think much of it, I later realized how difficult it would be to keep that promise.
A/N: I don't have much to say today, but I will say one thing. If you live in California, I am extremely jealous of you. I wanna try In-N-Out sooo bad D: It's like my life goal xD How ya guys likin this? I promise, next chapter is when it gets better :D See ya latah c:
