Pre-Note: And here it is. The first actually interesting chapter so far. Enjoy!

Ian:

Today was the day.

I was actually going to do it.

I was going to tell Anthony.

And this time, there was no backing out. It would be perfect. I made secret reservations for us at this really nice restaurant right on the shore. We would just be eating, and all would be calm and happy and wonderful, and then I would say it. "Anthony, I love you." And he would probably say "I don't love you." And I'll be prepared for that, because I know he doesn't love me back. I just can't keep the secret in anymore.

And he obviously really loves it here, so it's the perfect place. Who knows, maybe it'll be the official place of where we started dating.

Or maybe, I'll ruin the whole place for him and bad memories will rush to his head whenever he thinks about it.

"You ready to go?" I asked him, stepping out of the hotel bathroom wearing slightly nicer clothes than usual.

Anthony's eyes shifted over to me. "Go where?"

"It's a surprise."

He raised his eyebrows and sat up. "What is it?"

"A surprise. Duh."

He slowly stood up and walked over to me. "Ian. Where are we going?"

I smirked a little and grabbed the car keys off the dresser. "Get in the car, and you'll see."

Only a few minutes later, my phone directions led me to the surprise, which was this huge restaurant right on the shore. It was really perfect, because it had tons of seafood, which I loved, but also had normal food that Anthony liked. And, despite its looks, it really wasn't all that expensive.

I parked and felt the nervousy begin in the pit of my stomach, which I knew would only expand as the night went on. Soon, it would burst, and my biggest secret would be out in the open.

The thought terrified me, and I realized that I could still back out. I didn't need to tell him tonight. We had a lot of summer left.

No, I told myself, turning off the car. I have to do this.

"Are you joking?!" Anthony said, looking at the giant white building in front of us. "This place is way too expensive. We can't-"

"Hey, chill out," I interrupted, opening my door. "It's really not that bad. Trust me."

He shook his head, but opened the door anyways. "Why couldn't you just tell me we were going here?"

I shrugged, now walking across the parking lot. "It's a surprise."

He laughed a little, rolling his eyes. "This better not be all seafood."

"It's not. I checked."

We walked in, and the man behind the counter smiled at us. "Good evening, gentelemen. Just the two of you?"

I nodded. "We'd like to sit outside, too. If that's alright."

"Of course. Right this way."

We followed him out the back, onto a deck lined with christmas lights that were on even though the sun was just starting to set, overlooking the ocean. He led us to a table with two chairs right along the fence, complete with a white tablecloth and some of those fancy wine glasses with the folded napkins in them.
