Imagine #8: You Meet His Parents- Grayson

Today you were going over to Grayson's house for a Fourth of July BBQ. This was the first time you will meet all of Grayson's family. You have only been dating for a couple weeks and you haven't met anyone in his family. You drove over to Grayson's house. You walked up to the music blasting house, holding the potato salad you had offered to make. Before you could knock, a girl who looked just like Grayson opened the door.

"Oh, hi! I'm Cameron," she said shaking my hand.

"I'm y/n, Grayson's girlfriend," you said.

"Oh my god, hi! Sorry I had no idea who you were. I'm so happy I can finally put a face to your name! It's so nice to meet you. Here, come in," she said.

"Thank you, it's nice to meet you too," you said walking into Grayson's house for the first time.

"Wow, your house is gorgeous," you said while following Cameron.

"Thank you," she said. "Grayson's outside by the way."

"Thanks. Where should I put the salad?" you asked.

"There's a table outside. Grayson will help you with that."

"Thanks," you said while walking outside.

When you walked outside, you couldn't believe your eyes. The backyard was three times the size of your house and it had a pool and a hot tub. You saw Grayson standing with who you assumed was Ethan. You caught Grayson's eye and he waved you over. You saw him point you out to Ethan. You read Ethan's mouth say "oh my god"

"Hey y/n!" Grayson said and gave you a kiss.

He wrapped his arm around his waist and smiled at you.

"Hey," you said.

"This is Ethan," he said motioning to his twin.

"Nice to meet you," you said shaking his hand.

"The pleasure's all mine," he said giving you a wink.

Grayson hit him and you tried to hide your laugh.

"Um, where should I put the salad?" you asked.

"Over here," Grayson said.

He lead you to a large picnic table where his mom and dad stood, setting up the BBQ.

"Mom, dad, this is y/n, my girlfriend," he said.

"Hi y/n! It's so great to finally meet you!" Said his mom.

"Thank you for having me."

"Our pleasure," said his dad.

"Here, I'll take that, sweetie," said his mom.

You gave her the salad bowl and she motioned you to follow her. You did and Grayson gave you a reassuring smile. You told him the day before about how nervous you were to meet his family. You were always one that liked to make a good first impression.

"Wow, this looks good," said his mom once you two were alone.

"Thank you! My mom and I made it this afternoon. It's my grandmother's recipe," you said.

"You'll have to teach me how to make this one day. It's the best potato salad I've ever had!" She said after taking a bite.

"Of course!" you said smiling.

His mom then turned to me and lowered her voice.

"I just have to tell you this," she started, "Grayson has been talking about you none stop for the past week. He's been giving us lessons about how to behave around you so we don't embarrass him. It's quite cute actually. Anyways, I just thought I should let you know," she said laughing.

"I hope it wasn't getting annoying," you said.

"Oh, not at all! You certain lived up to the high expectations he set up for you," she said smiling at you.

Later that night were the fireworks. Grayson's dad had bought over 500 fireworks and set them all up himself. The entire neighbourhood came to their BBQ. You and Grayson managed to find a spot on his lawn for the two of you to watch. He set down a blanket for you and you laid there together, hands intertwined, watching the fireworks.

"My mom loves you," he said.

"Really?" You asked hopefully.

"Yeah, for sure. She told me," he said.

"You know she invited me to go shopping with her, right?" you asked.

"What? That's awesome! Are you going to go?" He asked.

"Hell yeah! Your mom's great" You said.

"You're great," he said.

"That was super cheesy," you laughed.

"I know, but it's true."
