Imagine #15: First Fight with Ethan

You and Ethan had managed to go eight months of dating without fighting. You had the occasional bicker but no serious arguments. You and Ethan meshed well together and that's why you rarely disagreed on anything. That is until last night. 

You wanted to go the movies to see the latest Jennifer Lawrence film. She was your favourite actress and you had to see every film she was in. 

"Hey Eth, want to go see the new J-Law film tonight? It's playing at 7:30 so we can have dinner and then catch the movie," you suggested walking into yours and Ethan's living room where Ethan was watching TV.

"Uh, no not really. I think I'll just hang out with Grayson tonight," he said not looking away from the TV.

You normally wouldn't mind that Ethan wanted to hang out with Gray since Grayson is his brother after all, but this time you did mind. He had been ditching out on all your date suggestions lately and you were getting kind of annoyed. You hadn't been on a date together for over a month. 

"Come on Ethan. I just want to go on one date with you. I barely see you anymore," you said calmly.

Ethan rolled his eyes. "Are you that needy, y/n? You see me all the time! I just want to hang out with my brother. Is that a crime?" He said raising his voice.

"No, it's not a crime, Ethan, but I don't see you all the time! Can you think of the last time we had a conversation longer than five minutes without you going out with your friends? I understand that you need to hang out with your friends but what about your girlfriend? Have you forgotten that I need you too?" You said getting upset. 

You had been feeling forgotten lately. Ethan rarely involved you in his plans and you started to feel unwelcome. You had spent many days and many nights alone.

"God, don't be so selfish, y/n! You sound like a child right now! Have you forgotten that I need you too? " he said mocking you. He laughed and shook his head. "You're so pathetic sometimes, y/n."

"I am not being pathetic! I am sick and tired of having to spend my days alone. I just want to spend one full night with you, Ethan. I miss you"

He laughed again and looked at you. 

"You're so fucking pathetic. I can't believe I'm still with you."

You nodded and turned around. His words hurt you. You went up into your's and Ethan's room and packed your overnight bag. You heard footsteps coming closer to the bedroom just as you finished packing. 

"What are you doing?" Ethan asked confused. 

You wiped your cheeks and put on a brave face before turning around to Ethan who was leaning against the door frame.

"I'm leaving, Ethan," you said."If you don't want to be with me then I'm going to make it easier for you and end it myself. Goodbye Ethan."

You walked past him and he grabbed your wrist. 

"No, y/n, wait!"

"Ethan, I can't be with someone who isn't happy with me. I'm sorry but this just isn't going to work out."

"Y/n listen to me. I didn't mean what I said. I love you so much and I can't live without you. I'm sorry I haven't been spending enough time with you. Grayson's girlfriend cheated on him and he's been having a really hard time lately and he needs me."

You looked deep in his eyes and you could tell he was serious. You could feel the tears forming in your eyes and you collapsed into Ethan's chest. His arms wrapped around your body, warming you up and making you feel safe.

"I'm so sorry, Ethan. I had no idea that's why you had been spending so much time with Grayson," you cried into his chest.

"No, I'm sorry. This isn't your fault, y/n. I should've told you what was going on but instead I kept it secret and I didn't even realize how much it was hurting you. Please stay?" He asked looking into your eyes.

You smiled and nodded. He smiled back and hugged you tighter. 

"I love you so much, y/n," he said into your neck.

"I love you too, Ethan."
