Thanksgiving break was insane. Alice had three sleepovers lined up but everything had to be canceled. Bella had gymnastics, her neighbor Ellie was going to North Carolina, she had to miss Abby's birthday for some girl scout thing, it was all just so annoying. She was excited to just lay back and eat some Turkey, but Thanksgiving was in shambles. Her cousin Earl had his own family now: a one year old baby, a beautiful blond wife, and a house all their own. She wanted her family to come down for Thanksgiving at their house, and his family wasn't invited. Alice's aunt Cheryl hadn't seen her granddaughter Tera in months. She was an emotional wreck. Earl was frustrated, but he couldn't fight the wife. Alice was done with everything, but after having her ear chewed our by her father, she begrudgingly traveled down to her aunt and uncle's place for an awkward dinner between the four of them. Although the participation was cut in half, her and her aunt baked for twelve - as always. She filled quickly, since her stomach had shrunken after the food poisoning. She hadn't eaten much for those few days. She was quickly uncomfortable and went home with her father. The night's terror lessoned after that. She fell into a deep sleep, awaking the next morning to a call from her mother. Her grandmother was finally coming! For real! She had planned on coming for months, but at the last second, she always had an excuse - a terrible one: I have to wash the car, go to the bank, pull some weeds, ect. She had bought three plane tickets already! The original plan was before her birthday, in early July, but it was pushed to Halloween, and to Thanksgiving. But she was finally coming, and Alice was excited. Her excitement was killed by the second call...she wasn't coming.
She has laundry to do. She'll be coming in late December, after Christmas. She slammed the phone into the nearest wall.
What is wrong with her family?
