- Kenya in MM Picture

Kenya.

"Ms.Betsy you gotta eat" I told my long time patient.

My shift was almost over and she was giving me hell like always. In the end I love her though because she's like a second mom to me.

"I'm not eating that nasty shit" she protested while turning her nose up

I tried not to laugh "But you said you haven't been feeling well and you haven't been eating in a few days"

She turned her head to the side

"Please eat it. For me"

"I done had enough of this hospital food. You should bring me some real food"

I sighed "Ms.Betsy pretty please. I don't care how it taste I just want you to feel better"

"You try it. You'll be sick right along with me"

By that point I was laughing. She can be a pain sometimes but she always keeps laughing. I have been taking care of Ms.Betsy for 2 years now but it feels like I have been forever. Even when I don't feel like coming into work her smile always motivates me to keep going.

"Tell you what. You eat this and tomorrow I'll bring you some good food"

"Don't be lying to me child"

I looked at her seriously "You know I got you"

She looked at the food in disgust "Alright then. Whatever"

I set her food on the table that was over her bed. Then handed her the cup of water. She reminds me of my mom so much. I think that's why she's my favorite patient.

"Can I eat half?" She asked

"Ms.Betsy you think half is 3 bites"

"well just tell me when you think I ate half"

"Okay then eat"

"You better bring me so good food. I'm not playing"

I smiled "I am. I promise"

She smiled then ate for me.

I just got in the house and I'm exhausted from walking and running around all day. My feet hurt and I have a headache. I took a Advil and then washed it down with some water. Hoping this will work.

As I was taking a shower my phone was ringing. I reached out and grabbed it checking the name. Jayla. Jaiden's sister.

"Hello?" I answered

"Oh your in the shower?"

"Yeah. You caught me at a bad time" I laughed

"Call me back when you get out"

"Okay bye"

"Peace"

I put my phone back and got in the shower. Letting my thoughts take over.

"Lemme talk to you Kenya" Kenya's father Vincent told her

"But dad i-"

"Your 15 years old. Have some respect and listen to me. Now sit down!"

Kenya never heard her dad like this so now she was worried. She sat on the couch nervous as to what her father had to say.

"I have something to tell you"

"What is it dad?"

Kenya watched as her father wiped his eyes. Her dad never cries
