MARC'S POV

I was now at the hospital, in the waiting area standing against the wall. The police had already come and went. Greg was dead and I was happy about that. I was only pissed I wasn't the one to do it. Missy was sitting in the corner with Jasper hugging each other. She was sobbing and he was silently crying trying to be strong, no doubt. Mom and dad were sitting next to them in a similar position except Nick was between them crying his eyes out. I looked over at Eric who had his arm around a devastated Aaron. Aaron was slouched over with his head in his hands. I was the one who called him. I didn't want to, but he needed to know. He was beyond pissed and heart broken, with good reason. The doctor came out and I rushed over to him as the others followed.

"Hello I am Dr. Hale. First off I would like to say Mrs. Rose and Karen are going to be ok. They have some broken bones, scrapes, and bruises but nothing too horrific. They are malnourished however, and dehydrated so they will need to stay for a few days until that is taken care of. Overall they should be fine. You all can go in and see them. They asked to share a room so they are both in room 512 B." Dr. Hale assured.

"What about Samantha?" I asked hesitantly and he sighed. Why did he sigh? That is not good right?

"Samantha just got out of surgery. She has severe internal injuries. She had internal bleeding. It also seems that she has broken her ribs a significant amount in which they have healed improperly. Because of this, when she suffered the blows to her sides earlier, they punctured some of her organs." He explained.

"But you fixed her right? She is going to be ok?" Aaron asked hopefully.

"We did all we can do. We stopped the internal bleeding for now and we patched her up as much as we could. She has lost so much blood already and we have been giving her transfusions. She is now in a coma and we have no way of knowing if she will overcome her injuries or not." He replied sympathetically.

"What do you mean all you can do? Your job is to save people! Not give up when it gets tough!" I spat angrily.

"What are the chances of her making it through this?" Mom asked sadly.

"I wish I could tell you the odds are good but I cannot. I have seen others with severe injuries similar to hers and most of them did not pull through. It is a lot of trauma to the body. I would say a 5% chance but even that is being optimistic. She cannot even breathe on her own. I'm sorry." Dr. Hale added and I felt like my chest had an elephant on it.

"Can she be moved into the room with her mother and Karen please? She would want that. And when she wakes up she won't be alone." Dad suggested trying to sound confident in her recovery. None of them believed she would make it. I could not afford to think like that. I had to believe she would wake up. I had too.

"I will make the arrangements." Dr. Hale complied and walked off in the opposite direction.

"I need to see mom and Karen." Aaron sniffed walking away as well.

"I'll come with you." I said walking with him. The others decided to follow along. As soon as we reached the room, Aaron rushed in and hugged his mom for dear life.

"Hey Aaron. I am so happy to see you! I have missed my baby boy so much!" She cried. The others and I stood in the doorway observing. I could not get over how much she reminded me of Samantha.

"I missed you too mom. I love you so much!" Aaron cried pulling away to look at his mother.

"I love you too, son." She smiled stroking his cheek. He reluctantly moved away from his mother and looked over at Karen. He just as quickly ran over to her and pulled her into a hug as well.
