Beth's P.O.V
I walked down the train trying to find a compartment and after 10 minutes of looking - I gave up. I chose a random compartment and saw there was literally, one seat left. Before I knew what I was doing - I found myself opening the door and peering inside. "Uhm, Hi. Do you mind if I sit here? All the other compartments are full.." I found myself speaking. All eyes in the small compartment were on me. That's awkward. The boy sitting closest to the door straightened and smiled at me "Sure" I quickly moved further in and sat next to a cute boy with platinum blonde hair and bruises all over his face and neck. I felt curiosity taking over me as I smiled at the whole group. "My name's James by the way. What's yours?" I studied the boy - he was okay looking. Not my type though. He had jet black hair and electric green eyes and he the ghost of a smirk - I'm guessing that that smirk would be ever-present. I smiled "Sarabeth. But you can call me Beth if you'd like to" He nodded "Okay, well this -" He motioned to a boy with chestnut brown hair and intelligent blue eyes "Is my brother Albus." I waved to him and smiled. Albus blushed and hid his face. "This, this is my little sister Lily - she's a second year, Albus is a third year and i'm a fourth year by the way." He waved a hand at a small pale girl with Albus's blue eyes and long rusty orange colored hair - it suited her. Next, James pointed to a boy who was lanky, pale, blue eyed and had so many freckles that I couldn't be bothered to count. He had wavy firey red hair and was quite cute. "That's Hugo - our cousin! He's a third year like Albus!" He nodded at me and went back to writing something in a small, rather ordinary looking notebook. Next, he pointed to another girl with rosy cheeks and critical blue eyes and and stick straight flaming hair. "That's Rose - or, as we call her - Rosie. She's Hugo's older sister. Fourth year." She smiled warmly at me. She seemed sweet. James continued by pointing to a boy with sandy blonde hair - along the front, if you looked hard enough you could see a small tuft of bubblegum pink hair. That's strange. Huh, i wonder what that's about. "That's Teddy - He's my god brother" James smiled warmly at Teddy. Teddy grinned at me "Hey" He said brightly. I felt my cheeks flame and replied "Hi there" He chuckled. James paused awkwardly and then said calmly "This is our friend Scorpius Malfoy" he trailed off. I found myself examining every inch of the beautiful boy. From his platinum hair to his sky blue eyes. He was pale but his skin was smooth and he wasn't brutish but you could tell he was an athlete. His bruises were strange...they didn't look accidental. I decided to ask about them "So, how did you get those bruises on your face and neck?" I saw his ears turn a pink color and his whole body tensed just slightly. He immediatley looked away from me and spoke in a monotone. "I fell. Down the stairs. And there were alot of stairs." I frowned. I could tell he was lying but I decided not to push it. I looked slowly back to Teddy - who I could definitley see myself being friends with in the future. "So, what houses are you guys in?" Teddy grinned "Well, I'm a Hufflepuff. Hugo and Scorpius are in Slytherin. Rosie is a Ravenclaw. Albus, Lily and I happen to be in Gryffindor" I smiled at them. "What house do you think you'll be sorted into" Just as I was about to answer - Lily interrupted me. "Merlin's pants! I love your accent - your French right?" I felt my cheeks heat up and saw Scorpius staring at me out of the corner of my eye - which didn't help the whole being embarrassed thing. I nodded "Yeah, I went to Beauxbatons" We all carried on conversations just getting to know each other. It was interesting watching all of them interact - I had only ever been an only child. It was kind of depressing but, hey! It made for having a great imagination! After a few hours, we pulled to a stop and we all got off the train and into these carriages. When I got to the castle - A very large man with long messy hair and a huge scraggly beard asked me if I was Sarabeth Singer and I told him tht yes, I was. He told me to follow him and so I did - I found myself waiting among a new crop of anxious first years. I found the eyes of the little eleven year old boy's on me. I was used to male attention because of the fact that I was part Veela. It ran in my mum's family. I ignored the watching eyes as a very severe lokking woman walked in, dressed in robes of dark green. She was holding a scroll and her gray hair was pulled back into a very tight bun. "Hello, I am Headmaster of Hogwarts - I am Professor McGonagull." I smiled as she gave us all a small smile. She began to explain the whole proccess of being sorted and when she had finished, she walked to me and pretty red haired girl - she looked to be a 4th year as well and said "Sarabeth, Aliria - since you are a 4th year and not a 1st year - you will be sorted first." I nodded. "Were pleased to have you here, attending Hogwarts, Miss. Singer. From what I can tell you are quite a remarkable and polite young witch" I blushed and smiled at her "I have high expectations for you." She turned and walked off. Soon, we all walked out into the entrance hall - passing ghosts who called out encouraging and welcoming comments. I smiled to myself as I walked in right behind Professor McGonagull - i felt all eyes on me. but strangely, I could only focus on one pair. I let my eyes wander the room until they landed on the face I was looking for. Scorpius was watching me - his blue eyes hard, cold and calculating. I immediatley blushed and looked beside me to the red haired girl - Aliria. She looked nervous. "Hi" I said with a friendly smile. She smiled gratefully and let out a breath "Hey" I said "You look nervous" She paused and then said "I am, I mean - I only found out that I am a witch about a week ago" That surprised me. I was about to ask something else when we came to a stop in front of the stage. On the stage was an old, rickety wooden stool with a ratty old hat on top. The professor walked up and stood next to the stool. She picked up the hat and said "Okay students! I am very pleased to announce that we have a transfer from Beauxbatons! Miss. Sarabeth Singer. Come up so you can be sorted please?" I walked swiftly up the steps and sat lightly on the stool. She lowered the hat on my head. When it was fully on my head - I heard a deep voice begin to growl in my head. 'Hmmmmm, interesting - very interesting' I frowned annoyed. 'Your very brave and bold - good for Gryffindor' The voice paused and then said 'But very intelligent and curious - Ravenclaw as well, huh' He waited a few seconds and spoke again 'but also loyal and very true and firm in your beliefs. A Hufflepuff as well? Curious! But, then again - your very cunning and have the power of manipulation and very determined - so Slytherin as well eh? I've never been faced with such a difficult descision!' I frowned even more and decided it was time to speak up 'Please, just put me in the house that I will be the happiest - that i will fit in the most.' He retorted with 'You will fit in, in all of the houses but I believe you will be happiest in.....' He trailed off and suddenly shouted out loud. "HUFFLEPUFF" Professor McGonagull lifted the hat and grinned at me as the Hufflepuff table erupted into shouts while clapping for me. I smiled and jogged over to find a seat. Teddy called out "Beth! Over here!" I quickly walked over and sat beside him. He grinned and gave me a tight - one armed hug. After the Hufflepuff's calmed down, The professor called Aliria's name "Aliria Baldwin!" Alria slowly moved up, stumbling a bit as she waled up the steps. I smiled. "Miss. Baldwin is also a 4th year" The professor waited until Aliria was seated firmly on the stool, her knuckles turning white from clutching the edges so tightly. The hate was lowered onto her head and for a few seconds it was complete silence "GRYFFINDOR!" I grinned and watched as she ran over and sat in the empty seat next to James. His eyes locked on her. As the next kid was called up, I couldn't help but feel like I was being watched. I turned and locked eyes with Scorpius. He gave me an incredibly angr and disappointed look. He looked.....disgusted. That hurt. I winced and turned back. I couldn't help but be upset at the look he had given me. What had I done?
