I was sitting in a comfortable chair in front a mahogany desk, waiting for Professor Mcgonagull to come back. I was lost in thought. My mind was constantly replaying the last week. I'm a wizard. Yes that may sound crazy, but I am crazy. I haven't always known that I was a wizard. I actually didn't find out till a week ago. It was a normal day at the Greenwood Orphanage. I was sitting on my lumpy bed, doing absolutely nothing. I tuned out the cries of all the younger children. They cried because they still believed that their parents are out there, coming to get them soon. But I know better than that. I've basically been raised here all my life. And it sucks. Everyone else was either outside or crying, and hiding in closets. So I was alone when a woman literally just appeared in the corner of the room. She was an old women, with dark green robes flowing behind her when she walked over to me. I was about to scream but I stopped when I saw her eyes. They just looked so gentle. I feel like this woman wouldn't hurt a fly. But then I could also see that she was powerful. "Hello Aliria. I am sorry if I have frightened you. I know you might be wondering how I have managed to appear in the middle of your room." I hesitantly shook my head. She walked over to me, her shoes making a clacking sound on every step she made. She stopped right in front of me. "Well, My name is Minerva Mcgonagull. I am the headmaster at Hogwarts, the school of witchcraft and wizardry. Yes. I mean magic. You see, humans, or muggles as we magical folk call them, they live in the darkness. They are blind when it comes to the real magic of the world. And Aliria, I am here today to tell you that you, are a wizard." My mouth dropped open, I stared up at her with wide eyes. I shook my head in confusion, "What?! I'm sorry but you must have the wrong person! I'm not a, a wizard! I'm just an orphan, left here to be alone. I think I would know if I were a wizard!" I stood up, I clenched my hands into fist, until there were little half-moons in my skin. "I know it may seem like I am making this up, but I am telling you the truth. I guess you would want some evidence?" I shook my head, feeling a little dizzy. She pulled out a stick, and she muttered a few words. I raised my eyebrows, silently asking her what was supposed to happen, and she nodded her head to the dresser beside me. I looked over at it, and I gasped. The book that was once tucked neatly on the corner of the dresser, was now floating in the hair. It started floating towards me, I reached out and grabbed it quickly. I tossed it onto my bed and turned back to Mcgonagull. "Okay. I'm starting to believe you. But why are you here? What do you want with me?" She smiled, "I want to bring you away from here, to my school. I want you to be trained to use your magical abilities." I gasped inwardly. Get away from this hell hole? And possible learn to use these magical powers that I'm supposed to have? Well. This may be my one chance to live a happy future. "Okay. I'll go with you." I said finally. She smiled. "Now grab my hand. We are going to apparate to Hogwarts." I hesitated, wondering what she meant by apparate, but I laid my hand on top of her outstretched fingers. And the next thing I know, I was being stretched and squished. And that's how I got here. I heard footsteps behind me, and I turned to see Professor Mcgonagull. She smiled at me and walked around to the big chair that was on the other side of the desk. "So. All of the other students that attend here are now on there way here. I have gathered the supplies that you will need, but first I thought that I should clear some things up. About your parents. Both of your parents were wizards, Aliria. They fought in the Battle of Hogwarts. And that is where they lost their lives." I sunk back in my chair, memories flashing back. l have one memory of my parents. I don't know how I remember it. But I remember my parents kissing me goodnight once. They whispered comforting words, but they looked at me as if they would never see me again. And they never did. I snapped out of my thoughts. "Okay. Thank you for telling me." And there's other things you should know. You will have to be sorted. There are four houses. Gryffindor, mafe for students full of bravery and courage. Slytherin, for someone looking for power. Ravenclaw, fir the witty, and clever. And lastly, Hufflepuff. Which is known for their loyalty Nd trustworthiness. So once you are sorted, we will have a feast, then we will go to bed in our dormitories. So if you will follow me, I will lead you to the Great Hall where you will wait for all of the other students who must be sorted." I stood up and followed her down flights of stairs and to we stopped infront of a huge door. Then a group of younger students, except for one girl who looked my age, walked over to us. Professor motioned for me to stand with them. So I stood next to the girl who looked older. Professor then told us how to get sorted and we followed her through the door. All I was aware of was tons of kids watching us. I kept my head down. When we finally stopped, she started calling off names. I looked at the girl next to me and I then started talking to her. I found out her name was Sarabeth, and she was my age. And she is also french! She came from some other school called Beauxbaton. She was sorted, and then shortly after they called my name. I took a feel breathe and walked up to the stool that was sitting there. I turned around and took a seat. Professor placed an old hat on my head. I was shocked when it started to talk. "Ohh. A smart one. you might do well in Ravenclaw. But there is an immense amount of bravery." I started whispering, "I don't think I belong in Gryffindor! I'm just an orphan. I don't know how to use magic and I am definitely not brave." It sighed. "You do not think you are brave? You may not know it but you are very powerful." I was getting frustrated. "Well put me in the house that will benefit me most then." He took few seconds then said, "Gryffindor!" I smiles and got up. I went to the table that was cheering, automatically guessing that the table was for Gryffindors. A few people introduced themselves to me. And then we had a huge fiest. It was full of any food you could possibly want! I was full when we where led to put dormitories. When I picked a bed, I immediately passed out, barely getting under the covers in time.
