"Jake, Jake." I spoke out as I woke up. The door swung open and I heard footsteps running toward me. "Janey. your awake." My head shot around to see Jake sitting on the bed with me. "Jake where am I?" I tried to sit up only to get pulled back down by Jake. "Janey don't move. You are in the hospital. Do you remember anything about what happened." I thought back to before I was upstairs. "I was getting a bottle of wine from the basement, but when I was almost upstairs I felt dizzy, but then it goes blank. I woke up at the bottom of the stairs, and heard someone answer the door." Jake looked at me so sympathetically that I pulled him into a hug, but felt a pain in my side. "Oh." As soon as I said that Jake pulled away. "Jane are you okay?" he asked laying back down on the pillow. "What is wrong with my side, oh and my head. Wait why can't I feel my leg as well." Jake looked down at the floor. "Jake what happened to me after I blacked out." he looked up and had three single tears rolling down his cheek. "Janey, when you fell a piece of wood broke off of the stair and went into your side, you cut your head on the wall when you hit the bottom, and your leg broke by getting it stuck in between the railings of the staircase. There's one more important thing." Tear after tear went rolling down my cheek, as more and more roll down Jake's cheek. "Janey, when they did surgery to remove the wood from your side they found something else." I was so worried that something was wrong. "Janey, they found a...um.... they found a..." I rushed him to the point. "Janey you are pregnant with a baby."
