How Complicated Can It Get

Chapter Ten

  I woke up the next morning to the smell of french toast, and scrambled eggs. Jake wasn't beside me, which was strange because that was the last place I felt him. "Jane are you awake my dear." I hear Jake yell out from the kitchen. I was still half asleep, when my phone rang. I reached over to grab my phone, but slipped off the bed. Jake ran into the room and ran straight to me. "Janey are you okay." I burst out laughing, when I looked up to see Jake with powder all over his face. "Janey what's so funny. I heard you fall onto the ground, and I ran to you." Jake lifted me up, and placed my crutches under my arms. I hobbled in front of Jake into the kitchen, to see that Jake had made me a four course breakfast. "Oh Jake, I can't believe you did all this for me. You are so sweet." I told Jake and pressed my lips together. I hobbled over to the kitchen bar, as Jake helped me up onto the chair. Well as best as I can with the stitches, and the cast. I took a bite of the french toast, and It was delicious. "Jake, what's the plan for today." He looked up and smiled. Jake pulled out a sheet of paper out of his pocket. At that moment I knew something was up. "Well first we will have breakfast, that's where we are now. Than we are going to watch a movie, and lay on the couch. Than we will have some time to read, or sleep. Lastly I have another surprise for you tonight." I just giggled at the long sheet of notebook paper, that was filled up completely. I finished my breakfast, while Jake went out to the living room. My Cell phone began to ring again. "Jake can you grab my phone, it is on my nightstand next to my bed." I heard Jake take off running down the hallway to my room. A few bites of my breakfast and Jake was right back by my side holding my cell phone up to my ear. "Jane how are you doing. Are you free tonight for all of us to come over. Maybe give Jake the night off." I said Hi to Joanne, while I grabbed the phone out of Jake's hand. I covered the speaker with my hand, and asked Jake if we were free tonight. "Janey, tell them you are free tonight because I have some errands to run for the surprise I am giving you. I will move our special surprise to tomorrow." I answered with a kiss, but uncovered the speaker by accident. "Janey, are you kissing JAKE." I quickly pulled away from Jake, and put the phone back up to my ear. "Yes, I was kissing Jake just now. I have some big big news to tell you when you get here tonight, around 6 o'clock." Joanne just laughed and told me they would be here around 5:30. I yawned and Jake saw that. He lifted me up and brought me to the couch. The Tv turned on and "Terms of endearment" started. I laughed that Jake would choose this movie to watch. It was 1 o'clock, only 4 hours til my friends. Jake put a pillow on his lap and helped me lay down, he started to rub my back. I fell asleep, within five minutes.
