Chapter Twenty Nine

**Jake's point of view**

When I walked back into the living room, I saw Jane and Luke peacefully sleeping. Jane looked so protective, with one arm draped around our only son, and her other hand over the three little babies, that was making Jane glow brighter than the stars that shined so brightly above our house. Lauren walked, and stood right behind me. "Dad, did you tell mom, what happened?" that's when she saw her mom, and brother look so peaceful. It has been a long month, that she has forgotten what her mother looked like when she was at peace, and with all her family around her. "Dad, I know she needs the rest, but you need to tell her about the bakery." I knew I had to wake her up, but he didn't want to. I walked over to the couch and leant down to wake up Luke, and I told him, what was going on. "Oh my god Dad, this is going to crush mom." Luke quietly got up, and walked over to Lauren. I bent down to place a kiss on her light pink lips. "Janey, I am sorry to have to wake you, but something happened." Jane stirred, and shot up, as soon as I told her that something was wrong. "is it the kids, or you, or something else?" Jane shot out, while I could tell she is getting more anxious by the minute. I tried to get her to calm down, and it took a little bit of time. "Jake, just tell me what happened." I told her that Renado called, and he needs us down to the bakery. I have never seen a two month pregnant woman jump up, as fast as he had just seen Jane. We ran out to the car, and were on the way to the bakery in seconds.

**Jane's point of view**

All I could see, as we pulled up to the bakery was flames. They were engulfing my bakery. I was out of the car before Jake even had the car completely stopped. "Jane, what are you doing?" Jake parked the car, and grabbed me around my waist. I stopped at the police tape, and burst into tears. "Jane, I am so sorry." I saw renaldo sitting with a blanket around him. I yelled out for renaldo, and once he saw me re ran straight to me. "Jane, I am so sorry. I went out to run a few errands, and when I came back the door was open, and the tables were flipped, and then it blew up. Sent me flying backward toward the street. I am so sorry, I left it unsupervised." I reached across to hug him, when I realized that Jake was still holding me up. "Jane, I think you should sit down." Jake suggested as I slipped a little, and he thinks it was due to renaldo pushing me down. I knew it was not because of that. I was feeling light headed, and heartbroken. "Janey, are you feeling alright." I started falling more into Jake's arms. "Janey, what's going on." My knees hit the gravel, and I was still trying to get the room to stop spinning. I saw Renaldo run over to the ambulance, and the kids were behind me. "Jane, are you feeling okay." I placed my hands over my stomach. I was still feeling lightheaded. The heartbreak came from the fact that I just watched my bakery burn to the ground. The paramedics ran over to Jake and I, alongside Ronaldo. "Jake, I... am...just...fine...Okay..." Gabby spoke up, and told me that I was not fine, and that she was sorry about the bakery. "Gabby honey, I am fine. Just a little light headed." Jake helped me stand up, so that I could sit down on the gurney. "Jake really, I am fine." A police officer walked over with a bottle of water. "Miss Adler, the paramedics asked for us to find you some water. Free of charge, we would also like to ask you a few questions." I nodded my head, and I looked up over Jake who was sitting right next to me. Jake, nodded his head and told me that it would be alright. The police officer started "How long have you had this bakery?" I responded that I have had the bakery for 10 and a half years. "do you have anybody that would want to do this?" I had to think, but Jake immediately answered "Agnus", I was shocked. "Jane, I am so sorry, but Agnes's father bailed her out yesterday morning." The lightheaded feeling intensified, and I find that result of, the last time I saw Agnus she had shot my daughter, then myself. I am reminded everyday that she missed the babies, so hearing that she is now free makes me feel more worried that she is going to come and finish the job. What if Agnus did this? what if she is trying to take out everything I love?. I don't think she wants Jake anymore?
