Hunter's POV

I didn't know what was going through my head when I tackled Cam.

It was almost an instinct when he slapped Serena. I felt the need to defend and protect her with every ounce of my body and mind.

Sitting on top of him, I threw the first punch at Cam's face and nailed him in the nose. Blood leaked out of one of Cam's nostril.

Cam threw up his arms in defence, but I continued to punch him.

I felt a pair of hands trying to pull me back but I didn't obey. I wanted to make Cam pay for hurting Serena.

"Hunter!" I heard Serena yell my name.

For moment I paused and looked at her. Her lip wasn't bleeding anymore, but I could see it was cut.

That's when Cam took his shot.

He hit me square in the jaw, knocking me back. Pain flared through the left side of my face where Cam punched me. He leaped up and pounced on me, now sitting on top of me. Cam swung again and hit me in the eye. I could feel blood falling down the side of my face from a cut above my eye.

I could see Serena and Kelsey behind Cam, trying to pull him off. Finally, they managed to pull Cam off of me.

I sat up, wiping blood off of my chin. Cam stood a little ways away, his nose dripping blood.

Then there was Serena.

She stood between me and Cam, tears glistening in here eyes. "What is wrong with both of you?" She looked back and forth between us.

Her eyes rested on me. I stood up and stood in front of her. "He hit you," I pointed at Cam. "I was protecting you."

"But you didn't have to resort to violence."

She turned and walked outside through the sliding glass doors attached to the kitchen. I tried to follow her but Kelsey stopped me. "Let her go. She's just stressed."

I watched her through the doors as she walked down the beach and out of sight.

Serena's POV

I walked outside, needing air.

Kelsey and I were able to get Cam off of Hunter and stop them from beating each other.

I stood looking out at the ocean, thinking about all the things that've changed and will still change. I appreciate Hunter for protecting me, but he didn't need to punch Cam, I thought as I stepped forward.

I had the sudden urge to go to the ocean. I stopped right in front  of the ocean, the waves just barely missing my feet. I took a deep breath and ran in the water, diving under. After a few seconds, my tail appeared at its full length, fully formed.

I smiled at the three feet long emerald green tail. I had a matching bra and a green streak in my hair, almost like a peek-a-boo.

I swished my tail once and was propelled forward. Laughing, I took off.

I didn't look back.
