Amethyst (1)~Someone to understand me

I hug my knees and look out into the warm of the morning.

It's really nice, but I don't feel like thinking about it..or...anything, I guess. It's kinda just nice to do nothing.

Which is basically me all the time but whatever.

I stretch and look at the shimmering clouds. I squish my toes against the soft sand, then I stand up smiling.

I guess I better do the mission.

Garnet, Pearl, and I have all split up to find unformed gems to bubble, so that they don't have to suffer.

Steven is currently back at the temple, hanging out with Connie.

I walk through the sand, looking for bits of shining chips of gems left nearby from being poofed or cracked.

Bored almost instantly, i cartwheel through the sand, laughing, before I crunch into a large piece of rock.

A pillar.

The pillar is cracked, with turquoise seaweed and sea-foam hanging off of its curved edges. It sticks up from the sand, sinking slowly.

A small Moonstone gem is in the center. I smile and take it out. It instantly forms but there's something different about it...

...the gem forms, but she's....human.

My mouth drops open slightly as a small girl, probably about 10 or so, stumbles backwards. She gasps and shakes her head.

We stare at eachother for a while before one of us finds our voice.

"Hi," I say awkwardly.

She whimpers and stumbles into the pillar, sitting down as a piece of seaweed falls on top of her head.

I laugh.

"You don't have to be afraid of me, here, I'm Amethyst," I say, putting out my hand for her to shake. She awkwardly shakes it.

"I'm...~YN~...I don't..." She suddenly sits up so straight and stands up so fast that I fall backwards when she does so.

Before I know it, she's rushing off towards the beach.

"Hey, come back here! I need to bubble you!" I scream at her. I take off after her, but the small girl runs towards a sandy cliff overlooking the sea.

I run after her, and I can hear in the distance, she's yelling something. Dad.

...what?...but gems aren't supposed to have....

I stop.

"Whoa, are you half human!?" I yell after her. She turns around suddenly and whimpers, then nods.

"Oh...you probably got separated from your dad, didn't you? and your mom's gem was given to you?"

Her eyes widen and her fist clenches slightly.

"How did you know that?" I beam and laugh.

"Well no problem! I know someone's who's half human too! Here, you look exhausted, come back with me, and we'll get you something to cool you down."

Her eyes light up, processing what i told her. She sighs, then lets me take her arm back to the warp-pad.

She gladly takes a cool cloth from me and puts it on her forehead, sighing and sitting down on the couch.

"Uh, here," I say, giving her a small water bottle.

She downs it, her 12th bottle since we got back. the small plastic containers are stashed around aimlessly.

I laugh and pick some up, then eating the containers. Her eyes light up as her head tilts slightly. "Why would you do that?"

"Because it's fun."

She sighs in a, 'whatever,' kind of way, then presses the cool cloth towards her face and smiles peacefully.

I look at her and notice she's asleep. I sigh, then get a cold blanket and put it over her. I make a mental note to help her find her dad.

Or whatever that heck she needs.
