Down by the park, the stream ran smoothly. The trees surrounding us were swaying gently in the wind, their leaves rusting overhead. Birds glided through the branches and sang their sweet songs. I held Elijah's hand preciously in my own.
Elijah wore a grey soft t-shirt of my dad's much like yesterday's and nice dark pants, again, like yesterday. I wore a long white chiffon dress that had laced fabric dangling as the decor for the bust. It was only a spaghetti string, but I still loved it. I wore nice wedges along with it.
We were headed towards Wickery Bridge. I've never been there, but I heard the water was crystal clear and good for manipulating like I do.
I started to swing out arms. Elijah gave me an amused glance. "What? Too high school-y?" I asked.
He shook his head and brought my hand to his lips. "Of course not, Alice," he said before kissing my hand. My skin tingled where his lips touched. It made my heart jump.
I smiled and bit my lip. "I love how gentlemanly you are, Lijah," I purred. He stopped, which caused me to stop, and he leaned over and kissed me.
It was a kiss that rose butterflies in me. One that made my dead, vampire heart pound. He pulled away and gazed in my eyes.
I savored the sweet and silent moment between us. Eye conversations were our specialty, and I held that close. Not a huge amount of people could carry on conversations with their eyes like we could.
I would've kissed him some more, but there were people around us. Hey, I was all fine with making out with my love anywhere, but humans can be so judgy.
He agreed with me by nodding and taking my hand again. We started strolling down to the Wickery Bridge again.
When we got down there, I started to frown. It was under construction, and Mayor Lockwood was there probably advising it.
I narrowed my eyes to see the faces of some people. But they widened when I saw a familiar female.
"What's Rebekah doing down here?" I asked, looking at Elijah. He seemed just as perplexed as I was.
He brought his gaze on me. "I would like to find that out," he said, and we started walking towards them.
Rebekah was talking to Carol, the mayor, but now she was going towards Damon and some redhead. Hey, I was supposed to be the only ginger in town.
Telling from Rebekah's stance, she didn't like the other redhead. I stopped Elijah before we could get into sight. I decided to listen in.
"Look what the cat dragged in," Rebekah sneered. She was talking about the redhead. Rebekah did have a cocky sense of humor. It was hilarious to hear, though.
Damon held up a hand. "Easy there, Rebekah," he warned. "You know she used to beat up men for sport." I raised my eyebrows. Tough lady.
"Rebekah. What a happy surprise," the redhead spoke. She looked not at all enthused.
My blonde Original friend narrowed her eyes. "What are you doing here, Sage?" She questioned. I guess her name is Sage.
Sage rolled her eyes. "Well, I heard Finn was finally freed from that casket your rage-aholic brother Klaus carted him around in," she explained. I glared. Klaus is my friend now. I'm not very amused when people say shit about him now.
