"Al? Care's in deep shit," Tyler's voice said from the other line. I was walking up towards the dresser with my dresses. I felt so much better from yesterday. Not drunk and no headache anymore. Yay!

"Wait, what happened?" I pushed through the dresses and found one. It was a pink swing dress with small pink and magenta petal designs on the skirt. I started to slip my pajamas off, tossing them into the hamper.

"My mom has her locked up somewhere. She knows about us, Alice. I don't know how, but she knows. And yesterday, I showed her the monster instead. Caroline isn't a monster. I am." I shook my head, but he continued. "I showed her what I am and what curse runs through our family. She said she'd let no harm come to Caroline, but she's still gotta get her out of the cell."

I blinked. My blonde best friend was kidnapped by my werewolf friend's parents. And who knows what is happening to her right now!

"Oh, my God, Tyler! This is bad. We don't even know what's happening to her!" I ran my hands through my hair. But I wasn't aware that I was in my underwear and bra. I realized and started to get into my dress. But I couldn't get the zipper down.

"I know, I know," Tyler sighed. "She's not in the old Lockwood property where I lock myself up... I'm not sure where she is."

I let out a stressed breath. "Well, we'll find her. I'll meet up with you today. Your house?"

"Yeah. Sure. Sometime later. You'll call?" Tyler asked.

"Yeah. I'll call when I'm on my way," I told him. I was struggling with my zipper. It wouldn't go down at all, and I couldn't step into it like this. Damn it. My eyes caught movement at my door. I looked over. Elijah just walked past, but stopped when he saw my struggling. An instant look of embarrassment crossed both our faces. My face showed it with a shit ton of blush.

"Uh...I got to go. I'll call you later, Tyler," I said before hanging up. He said 'bye' and hung up too. My eyes went to Elijah. Everything became awkward.

"I didn't meant to interrupt," he said. He was wide eyed. I felt a blush sting at my cheeks. I was literally just in my lace baby blue underwear and a bra that was also decorated in lace and soft, sculpting material, but it matched the pink of my dress. It wasn't color coordinated at all. And right now I was almost, like, fully exposed.

"Um...no worries," I said. "Could you, uh, help me with this?" I swallowed and held out the dress. Elijah hesitated before nodding.

He gently took the dress from my hands and worked at the zipper. I stood awkwardly and idly, covering my abdomen with my arms. My heart was pounding against my chest, making my nervousness obvious. My lungs felt as if they were constricted, making my breathing quicken.

I also felt self conscious. Like, a lot. My skin was starting to burn with embarrassment. I've never really seen Elijah blush before. But he was now. It crept onto his cheeks as the silence went on. And believe me when I say, my cheeks were beet red.

Right now, I could practically feel my heartbeat in my ears. It was loud and thumping, causing my knees to shake a bit. My eyes locked on the floor as I bowed my head. This was extremely embarrassing.

I lifted my eyes to his hands. I watched as he carefully maneuvered the zipper around and finally got it unstuck. He couldn't use his vampire strength, or he'd break it right off.
