______________
(Elijah)
It has been hours since Alice became unconscious. I was filled with worry and concern for my love. She should have woken up by now.
I sat next to her resting body on the bed. Niklaus was in his own chamber, most likely creating art. It is a pleasing hobby of his; it is nothing like conspiring plans against anyone.
I took this time to ponder about what could cause this. There has never been a vampire witch in all of history. It is new to me to try and figure out how to aid her because of her unique qualities.
I looked for distinct differences in her appearance. I took in the condition of her skin. It appeared paler than her usual milky complexion. And it also had a grey hue...
I finally realized what she needed. She has only had blood since she first turned. That was more than a week ago. Vampires needed blood almost daily. It must have been slowly desiccating her, and now it hit like a vulnerable deer in front of a truck.
My motions were quick as I used my vampire speed to get to the kitchen. In the refrigerator, there were stacks of blood bags to keep us well fed. I took the flimsy sac filled with crimson fluid and flashed back up the staircase.
My fingers maneuvered the small plug on the tube, and it popped out with ease. I sat on the bed, pulling her onto my lap, having her head upright. My arms cradled her gently as I allowed some of the fluid to enter her mouth.
After a moment of reluctant signs of life from Alice, she suddenly twitched and grabbed the bag. Her fingers gripped it as she sucked down the remaining deep colored liquid. When she emptied it, she gasped and filled her lungs with needed air.
Her head then whipped around to meet my eyes. She still has the veins of hunger pulsing under her beautiful green eyes. They slowly vanished, the skin smoothing out like silk.
I slid a hand up to her cheek, cupping her face as she turned on my lap to almost face me completely. A look of confusion was lingering on her features.
She furrowed her brows, attempting to make sense of it all. "Did I just...die?" She asked, disbelief in her voice.
A gentle look passed over my eyes. "You haven't had blood in a while, Alice," I explained to her. "You were desiccating. Since you are a witch also, it explains why you didn't feel pain or anything."
Her eyes were wide with shock. "So I was unconscious?" She seemed upset about the matter. "For how long?"
"Seven hours."
Her eyes were wide with utter shock. I placed my hands tenderly on her waist, slipping them around her back to pull her close. She was tense, and I wanted to relieve that distress like she did multiple times with me.
Her body pressed to mine as she clung back, her arms winding around my neck. "I don't understand," she whispered into my neck. Her weight shifted slightly when I pushed her back to see her face.
My eyes flicked to hers. "It's okay to be confused about it, Alice," I assured her. She gazed at me with sparkling eyes. My lips were itching to be on hers right now. I could feel the flutter in my chest rise as her soft gaze locked on mine.
