________
After what felt like a long sleep, my eyes shot open and I woke up with a gasp. My lungs were burning from lack of oxygen. I breathed hard and sat up.
The room was lit with rays of sunshine. They beamed throughout the bedroom. One of them shined in my eyes. I hissed and cowered away.
"Stupid sun!" I growled. "Too bright." I grumbled as I crawled out of bed. My feet hit the floor with a dainty thump. My eyes locked on my clothes. They widened.
My pink dress was ripped and covered in blood. It was everywhere. At the sight of it, I suddenly was parched. But also hungry. My stomach growled, and my skin itched. I needed to eat.
My feet carried my down the steps and into the kitchen. I stopped in my tracks when I saw who was on the floor. A gasp broke free from my lungs.
Elijah was on the floor, daggered. Next to him was Rebekah. I trembled and quickly bent down to them. My hands ripped both of the daggers out and threw them into a drawer. Now, all I had to do was wait, panicked, until they awoke. Oh, God, it would take forever.
And waiting was terrible. I was hungry. But nothing satisfied me. Then, I went and toured around the house four times. After memorizing every inch of the mansion, I smacked my head against the wall and growled. My veins burned irritatingly, and fingers started to twitch.
It was about an hour later that Rebekah finally woke up.
"Where the hell is he?!" She screamed. She was zoom in through the house. She came face to face with my panic stricken face. Her expression softened immediately.
"Ally, am I so glad to see you're okay," she breathed. I let out a cry of joy an hugged her.
"Bekah!" I sobbed. My skin tingled at the single touch of anything. "Everything's so touchy and sense crazy!" I was a good couple inches shorter than Rebekah, so I had to look up to her. She was tense, and her face was serious. Her eyes kept locking on something at my neck. What was on my neck? Sleep marks? My birthmark?
I became concerned. "What?" I asked, worried. Then, Elijah woke up. He had a look of betrayal and disgust on his face. But his eyes met mine, and he flashed over to me.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt?" He touched my shoulder, glancing at me from head to toe. I shook my head. My dress was crazy torn from yesterday, I guess. That's why he didn't really express worry over it. But his eyes caught some skin where the dress was torn. He furrowed his brows in ponder.
"No," I locked eyes. "But everything's louder, clearer, and beautiful. And the sun bothers me. Why? What changed?" I looked between the two siblings' faces. They were both serious and disgusted. I blinked in curiosity.
"What?" I asked, getting more pushy for answers. Elijah looked at me with hard eyes. It caused panic to stir. I feared for the answer.
"You're in transition."
My heart stopped along with my breathing. I stared at them both with a horrified expression.
"W-What?!" I practically shrieked. I felt a panic coming on. But somehow, by knowing this information, I remembered dying. Someone came into my room. And I knew exactly who it was. Klaus. He slit my throat.
My hands immediately went to the cut at my throat. It was scabbed over, already trying to heal. My heart decided to pound again.
"I-I can't be..." My eyes flicked between the two, panicked. What would Mom and Dad think of me? A monster as their daughter! I would be a disgrace. They would hate me! Rebekah stepped forward.
