Chapter 5: Guilt Trip

Lucy's POV

I forcefully closed my eyes, trying my hardest to stop the threatening hot liquid that's attempting to pour down. Clearly, visiting the mansion, more or less staying in this very study, is getting the best of me. I may have priceless good memories here, but the bad ones were seemingly unbearable and painful.

With a raspy sigh, i run out of the study, closing the doors rapidly behind me. I can't bear it. The pain was too much. The events that happened there; the constant shoutings and yelling, the emotional pain, the guilt tripping, the deathly glares and cold treatment, and the consistent hitting. It all happened on that very room..

After calming down, i slightly slapped my cheeks to regain my senses. I continued my venture, but this time to old room. I walked along the hallway only to stop infront of a pink door where the word 'Princess' was engraved. Upon twisting the doorknob on a clockwise direction, i entered my old domain.

The walls were painted in pastel pink, some cobwebs on high corners of the room. The small queen-sized bed, big closet, fancy studytable, and bookshelf were covered in white cloth. The chandelier hanging in the center was full of dust. The room itself was almost twice larger than my present one back at Magnolia. But if i were to choose, i rather pick that one than this.

This room maybe big and fancy, but the atmosphere and ambience somehow saddens me. It felt lonely.

As i walked around my old room, a dusty and old picture frame caught my attention. With shaking hands, i took it from a table to examine it. It was our formal family picture taken before i turned 8. Since i was the smallest in our family of five, i was at the very center. Standing properly with a broad smile on my face. My brothers on either side of me. Zach-nii on my right while Max on my left. Both wearing grins. Mama and Papa, since we were too small, was kneeling beside them. We looked so happy and carefree. I somehow felt a tinge of pain tugged my heart.

Sighing, i placed the said picture frame on my small backpack that i brought with me. Once more, i spared a longing look around my old room before walking out.

With slumped shoulders, i headed back to town. It was only 3 in the afternoon but i decided to stop searching around the Manor for clues since it pretty much shows that i won't find any. All i found useful was my mom's old journal or diary. I was kinda shock when i saw it alone inside the bedside table of my parent's old room. The book was old, with yellowish and crumpled pages. The cover was simple as it can get. All black, with 'Layla' neatly engraved in gold at the center.

I was grumbling along the way till i reached the hotel. I even saw some people look at my direction like i was crazy but i can careless about that now. I'm kinda pissed seeing that i didn't accomplished anything today. Especially now that i'm so itched to see them again. Now, i've reached a dead end. I don't know what to do nor where to go from here. And the situation at the guild isn't helping either. I need to move out. I can't stay here for long. Natsu and the others might find me here..

Normal POV

•Flashback: Yesterday [When Lucy was talking to Master]•

Everything was silent. Only sniffles and cries were heard all over the guild. Everyone was feeling guilty, crying silently and softly. The only ones who didn't feel this way were the 10 Fairy Tail Wizards who stood up for the blonde Stellar Mage, namely Mira, Gajeel, Juvia, Lisanna, Romeo, Levy, Wendy, Carla, Happy and Pantherlily. They were the ones who never left Lucy's side. They got to watch her suffer and break.

"What your s-saying.. i-is it true? Did s-she really suffered b-because of us?" The broken pyromaniac asked as he gulped hesitantly. His onxy eyes was now covered by his pink locks, salty tears slowly flowing from his cheeks. He was shaking, hands balled into fists. He was also bitting his lips in a way to control his anger. Not that his angry at Lucy nor anyone, he's mad and disappointed at himself. An image of the said blonde crying crossed his mind which made him even more angrier.

"Yes, you dolt! I've witnessed her cry herself to sleep calling out your f*cking name! She's heartbroken! And that's all because she fell inlove with a stupid pyromaniac like you!" Everyone gasped at the iron dragonslayer's words while Natsu had his eyes wide as a saucer. Gajeel can only grunt in annoyance as he felt Levy elbowed him in the gut.

"Idiot! You were not suppose to tell them that!" The furious petite blue-haired solid script mage scolded while jabbing her forefinger to his masculine chest.

"W-What? Are you b-bluffing? That's i-impossi-"

"Believe it or not, Lucy Heartfilia's inlove with you, Natsu. But after what happened, i doubt that she'll forgive you anytime soon." Lisanna stated which earned a scowl from Gajeel.

"I doubt that she'll ever forgive him." He muttered under his breath but loud enough to reach Natsu's ears. He hate to admit it, but Gajeel maybe right. What he done was something unforgivable. And hearing that Lucy actually has feelings for him just made him feel even worse!

"Sh*t! Sh*t! Sh*t!" Natsu cursed out loud while ruffling his hair with both his hands. Those around gapped at him for spatting those words out. He just looked so confused and frustated that earned him sympathetic looks from mostly everyone. This was certainly one of the rare times they got to see their troublesome salamander be so hopeless.

Many had anticipated for him to run upstairs to beg for the blonde's forgiveness, but instead he walked away. He ran out of the guild, avoiding eye contact as much as possible.

On Natsu's mind, he was chanting the words 'i'm sorry' and 'forgive me' over and over again. But he didn't have the courage to face her just yet. He caused her so much pain, that alone broke him apart. As he was running away from the guild, Lucy was the only think he could think of..

"I'm sorry, Luce. I don't have any rights to love you anymore.. I'm such a jerk!"
