Chapter 27: In trouble

Normal POV

  "Reaper." That name alone gave the acclaimed Children of the Stars shivers and fear. In their perspective, he was the closest thing to a demon.

  "Oh. So, my favorite kids remembers me? That touches my heart." A man in an overly familiar cloak emerged from the shadows, a menancing aura surrounding his already scary features. His cloak was black as night, fully covering his clothes and half of his face. The ghostly horrifying smile on his thin lips was visible, enough to scare anyone who catches even the glimpse of it. No one has ever seen the face behind that hood. Not even his men or most trusted ally.

  "He doesn't even have a heart!" Max muttered angrily, openly glaring at the new comer. He clearly dislikes—despises even—the intruder. He killed his mother, separated him from his twin sister, kidnapped them and tortured them in every possible time.

  "The right question is, 'Is he even capable of having one'? He's a monster!" The Astral Manipulator, Zach, snorted.

  "You should just surrender yourselves. It would save us time and strength. Won't you agree?" The cloaked figure declaired, earning himself everyone's full attention. All fights stopped immediately, solely focusing on the new intruder. It was like he was the guest of honor that time.

  "Like hell we will! We will never go back to that prison! Just rot to hell, demon!" Kurt was fuming with rage. He was entrusted by his Aunt to take care of them. And that's what he was going to do. He's willing to protect his family no matter what. He was the leader. The one to rely on. He'll conquer the impossible if he needed to just to protect them.

  "Oh. Such big words, Galaxy Mage. Brave as always?" He was frozen in shock when the cloaked figure suddenly disappeared in thin air, only to appear directly above him. The known leader received a painful smack on his head, enough to knock him on the ground. The impact of the attack resulted to a small crater underneath him. To a normal person, it might seem that he teleported but to mages like them, he actually used highly enhanced speed.

  "Kurt-nii/Kurt!" They yelled, attempting to run towards him but was blocked by the remaining conscious mages.

  "Get out of our way!" Zach yelled angrily, making a nunchucks made from shadows. It was a weapon that has two shadow-like sticks that was linked by a metal chain. He twirled it around his body, doing some basic stunts before finally hitting two of the men in the guts. They were shocked by the impact, forced to move backwards. With that opening, he gave them powerful punches that finally knocked them unconscious.

  "Mother Nature, Activate! Earth Form!" Yuuki chanted, engulfing her body with green light. Once diminished, she was seen in a different outfit. It was composed of an emerald green tank top that was embedded with gems on the neckline, military print shorts, light brown combat boots, and a dark green cloth that was tied knot-like on her waist, exposing her shorts. Her long hair was tied in a ponytail.

  "Living Vines!" She soon yelled, swiping her hand in the air. Green vines appeared from underneath the ground, raging towards three enemies with great speed. They wrapped themselves around them, squeezing hard enough to weaken them.

"Celestial Dragon's Descending Comets!" The former Fairy Tail Mage chanted, waving her hand infront of her. Both of her hands glowed golden, a large magic circle appearing before her. Comets of all sizes emerged from it, simultaneously hitting her opponents.

  "Celestial God's Mighty Fist!" Light engulfed Max's fist as he used it to punch Death Corpse Members in his way. The fights continued on until it was only three of their enemies left, plus their leader which was Reaper. At that accomplishment, Lucy and her family felt a sense of victory. They were struggling earlier to defeat their enemies but now that Reaper appeared, they felt anger and want to achieve revenge. Those emotions lead them to be stronger and dire need to succeed. It's what kept them going.

  "Since this battle is coming to a close, why don't i reveal myself?" The cloaked figure suggested, perking the interest of the five teenagers.

  "You mean before we beat your sorry *ss?" Max smiled smugly, earning some chuckles from his siblings and cousins. However, their opponent didn't find the joke funny nor amusing. Instead of being offended, he smirked. Slowly, he lifted his hand and gradually settled it on his hood. By that small movement, the atmosphere changed drastically. From intense to suspence and anticipation. Everything seemed to slow down. The way he pull his hood off brought gasps and shock to everyone.

  "Children of the Stars, my name is Reaper. The guild master of Death Corpse. Also, Layla Heartfilia's killer!" A sadistic laugh escaped his lips as everyone around him stepped away. The cloaked man finally revealed his appearence. After for so long, they finally saw the face of her murderer. 'Reaper' has unique and scary features. He has hair as black as the night and eyes as red as blood. An X shaped scar was carved on his left cheek. His nose was pointed and has average high cheekbones. Another scar grazed his face. It was long, from his forehead, pass his right eyebrow and ends just below his right eye. It didn't affect his eyelids, however.

  "Now that is out of our way. Lest, Meria and Rio, you know what to do." The three remaining conscious members of Death Corpse, which was composed of a black spiky haired guy with maroon eyes, a brown haired guy with blue eyes and a petite red head girl with purple eyes, charged at the still shakened five. It took them a second too late to react. Not a minute later, three of them were already down on their knees, panting. Max and Lucy looked at their brother and cousins in shock. It was a complete mystery on how they were able to implict that much damage in such a short amount of time. It may have to do with how exhausted they were but still, it should have taken them atleast a few more minutes to take them down.

  "H-How?" Lucy mumbled out of shock. She stared at the four enemies infront of them. She now calculated the danger of their situation. Even if the three were conscious, they were in no condition to fight. Yuuki has a deep cut on her abdomen and a few broken bones. Zach has a fractured arm and a bullet wound on his stomach. Lastly, Kurt has broken bones, a large cut on his right leg and an open wound on his head. It was terrifying. Their three Death Corpse enemies, not to mention Reaper. In just a span of seconds, they were able to implict such serious wounds. Not to mention that the twins has some bruises and cuts courtesy of their fight earlier.

  "What now?" The Celestial Mage can only thought, helplessly.

GOMEN!!

I was supposed to update yesterday but i fell asleep early! Really sorry for the delayed update, minna! School is stressing me out! I really miss summer vacation!! >____<
