Chapter 24: Children of the Stars

Lucy's POV

  "The 'Stars' are the five beings that makes up the universe. They create balance and peace amongst creatures and species. They watch over the different realms; including Earthland, Edolas and etc. These 5 superiors have their own roles to fullfill. Every five hundred years, they choose 5 people to bless and guide." Stella started, seemingly ignoring our confused expressions.

  "What does this have to do with us?" Zach-nii asked, starting to get impatient.

  "It has everything to do with the five of you."

  "What-"

  "For these 5 superiors represent each one of you. In other words, they chose you. You are the lucky 5 they had chosen." Her statement even raised more questions.

  "What are you talking about, Stella?" I inquired, with more patience and understanding. I knew Max and Zach-nii were getting annoyed for the delayed information. Those two are hot headed and very impatient; reminds me of a certain dragonslayer actually.

  "The five of you are known as the Children of the Stars being that each one of you represents one of them. All of you were blessed by them. They had guided you since the day you were born. Also, they were the ones who gave your powers to you seeing that you were specifically chosen by them." We didn't dare interrupt her. We were too engrossed in her story to do so anyway

  "Kurt Heartfilia, chosen by the Spirit King; the ruler and leader. He bestowed Galaxy Magic to you, allowing you to control and manipulate the heavenly bodies to your will. Also, your role in this group is to lead everyone. You are the one who shall make the decisions and decide the next movements." We were shocked by this new revelation. Stache Face was one of the 'Stars'?!

  "Zachary Heartfilia, picked by the Heavenly Knight; the Soldier. He gave Astral Manipulation to you. Magic that enables you to manipulate people's soul, control or make shadows at will." That's the first time i heard about this knight. Maybe not all of them interact with mortals or humans.

  "Miyuki Heartfilia, by the Stellar Priestess; the guardian. Your Planetary Adaptation Magic came from her. You are granted magic to adapt the powers of the Gods that represents each planet. You can use each of the Gods ability, whether in Battle, knowledge and etc. For example, when in your Neptune Form, you can control water." Another being we never heard of. I'm intrigued by this one. A priestess?

  "Maximus Wellis Heartfilia, the representative of the Celestial God; the protector. As you thought, he gave you your Celestial God Slaying Magic. The power to slay a God." We almost laughed hearing her state Max's complete name but didn't when reminded of the serious situation we were in. The Celestial God, huh? I think i have an idea on who mine is..

  "Lucille Heartfilia, my chosen child. I'm known to be the Strategist and Tactician which will also be your role, Lucy. I trained you to learn Celestial Dragon Slaying Magic, the power to slay a real Dragon." As i thought.. wait, tactician? Me?

  "Is that the reason why Death Corpse is after us? Because we're the Children of the Stars?" Kurt-nii asked.

  "No, there is more. As i said, your magics aren't the only thing they're after. There is something else.."

  "What do they want?" Voicing out my thoughts, i asked.

  "Aside from your powers, the 'Stars' bestowed something else in you. They had given you the 5 heavenly items that was entrusted to them by the Gods and Goddesses."

  "Kronos Orb for Kurt, from the God of Time. Atlas Sword, from the God of Astronomy, for Zach. God of the Sun's Helios Staff for Max. For Lucy, Selene's Key, from the God of the Moon. Lastly, from the Goddess of Dawn, Eos Mirror for Miyuki. You may not know this but they merged these items to your souls." It's getting harder to sink this information in.

  "But what do they want with these items?" Yuuki asked, the rest of us agreeing with her.

  "I have a few hunch but i'm not certain. They can do so much with those items and your powers. All of them are not good. That is why i'm gonna train you. To be stronger so Death Corpse won't be able to use you for bad purposes."

~Timeskip: 4 Months Later~

Normal POV

  "Natsuuu! I caught a fish!" Yelled a blue feline to his partner dragonslayer.

  "Really?! That's great, Happy!" The pyro complimented, patting the furball on his head. He stood up from his place near the lake, collecting the firewood he had gathered some time ago and made a bonfire. The blue exceed approached him and handed a pail with 3 fishes. Natsu smiled and set them up near the fire to cook while the cat was already munching on 3 fishes he spared for himself. As he always say, he wanted it raw.

  The first month they set off to search for a certain Celestial Mage, was spent looking around towns. They dedicated those weeks for searching. They skipped from town to town, city to city and even village to village. They spent their savings on food and would camp out on forests for the night. Unfortunately, they didn't find any clue nor there was any lead. The first month, they seemed to had visit over 20 towns but still no luck. No one saw the blonde they were looking for.

  On the second month, they were still hopping from one place to another. The dragonslayer didn't even mind enduring his motion sickness just to get to their next location. He never complained about his sickness as a matter of fact. Unlike the first month, they weren't as desperate. They would stay on a nearby forest for atleast another day or two to train. The dragonslayer made a conclusion. If Lucy was training to get stronger, he was going to train as well to be able to protect her. They have two different goals but Natsu didn't care. He wanted to make use of this opportunity to get stronger as well.

  Third month came so fast. Natsu and Happy were starting to miss the guild. The bare skin on the spot of their old guild insignia was too bothering to stare at. They were feeling home sicked but they knew better. Fairy Tail was counting on them, even though their guildmates doesn't know. They were almost on the other side of the country by now. Still searching but more on training.

  Fourth Month. Still no sign of her. They were starting to lose hope but they never gave up. The dragonslayer was stronger than he was months ago. He had a firmer built and body but that seems to be the only thing that visibly changed in him. The two of them were currently camping on a forest, catching some fish for dinner. They needed to save after all. Their money was cutting short and they still have two months left before the deadline.

  "So, what's the next town on our list, Happy?"

  "Well, according to this map, we're in the forest near Hoshi Town. Maybe we should go there next?" The neko asked, bringing out a worn out map that they had bought months ago. It has red marks all over, crossing out the places they already gone to. Basing on the map, they've gone to over 53 towns, 7 cities and 19 villages.

  "Hoshi Town, huh? Sure. Let's hit the road first thing in the morning."

H-Hoshi Town?! Isn't that the town where Lucy and her family is staying?! And Children of the Stars?! The Heavenly Items?! What came over me to think of that?! Wwaahhhh! Will Natsu and Lucy finally meet again?!

P.S: Did anyone guessed their magic right? I'm pretty sure no one did! Aside from @12CheshireCat who already knew from the beginning..
