Chapter 26: Precious Gem

~★~

Normal POV

(Fairy Tail)

"Have you guys seen Natsu-san and Happy?" The small blue haired dragonslayer asker her fellow guildmates. This earned her the attention of half of the guild, making her blush in embarrassment.

  "No."

  "Haven't seen his shadow."

"Never heard from him for a while."

  "Where is he?"

  "Isn't he here?"

  "Strange.."

"Flame Brain? Isn't he back yet? I heard that he took a hard mission with Happy." The raven haired half naked ice mage said.

"Yeah. But that was 4 months ago. He hadn't showed up at the guild ever since." Wendy said worriedly, glancing around the guild once more in hope to see a familiar mop of pink hair. She turned out disappointed.

"4 months ago? That was when he left with Happy, right? He was carrying a rather large pack than his usual." Their resident bookworm inquired, glancing up from her book to look at Wendy.

"Oh, i remember that. He was acting strange that day, right? He didn't even acknowledge Gray nor Gajeel when he arrived. He just ignored everyone and went straight to Master's office." The barmaid said, placing a hand on her chin as if thinking. The rest of the guild agreed with her.

"He did seem weird. What do you guys think? Maybe he gone off to look for you know.." Levy trailed off, hesitant on bringing her up. They all made a mental note of not mentioning her. Only if necessary or needed. That was for the sake of all those who were close to her. Especially Natsu.

"Impossible. Master would have stopped him." Erza declaired, munching on her strawberry cake.

"Yeah. He stopped anyone who dared to go after her. It's hard to believe that he'll allow him to go." The ice make mage snorted, crossing his arms infront of his bare chest.

"But where did they gone off? Knowing Natsu-nii, he wouldn't take this look to finish a mission." The young fire mage, Romeo, said. A look of worry crossed his features which was understandable since he sees him as a brother.

"Don't worry about them, brats." All noise immediately died down when their short guildmaster decided to join in their conversation. He was sitted at the bar, drinking alcohol.

"But why Master? Don't you think they're gone for too long?" The she-devil inquired, pouring him another glass of booze.

"I'm sure they haven't completed their mission yet." Master Makarov declaired, taking a sip on his glass.

"W-What? How hard is this mission, Master?!" The ice mage exclaimed, a look of disbelief on his face. He knew his rival. He's impatient, repulsive and hot headed. No matter what monster or mage he faced, he would have finished them off in a snap. No way he would take months unless the job was S-Class.

"The mission he took was to find a precious gem and hopefully, return it to it's rightful home. He was given six months to do so." Fairy Tail's master knew he was giving off to much clue but he didn't want to lie to his family. He knew a few smart members would be suspicious; mostly Levy, Mira, Erza, and Wendy. But he's willing to take the risk. It's not like they can do anything about it. Even if they decided to come after them, they're 4 months ahead of them. He's probably at the other side of Fiore by now.

"Isn't that a little too extreme for Salamander?" The iron dragonslayer said, deciding to join their conversation.

"It will only be hard if the gem doesn't want to be found. If anyone in this guild can find it, it's gonna be them. You see, that gem isn't ordinary. It's special. It's precious. It's light. How they will deal with it once found would be the main problem." Master Makarov knew he was walking in thin ice. He gave so much clue than intended. It surely wouldn't take Levy or Erza to discover the truth. Glancing at his guild, most of them were wearing confused gazes. Well, beside Levy who was frowning. The wizard saint knew she was already connecting the puzzle pieces. He would be lying if he said he wasn't worried but knowing the bookworm, he was sure she would come to him first to confirm her suspicions.

"Don't worry about those brats. They can take care of themselves. They'll return in two months time. If not, earlier. I'm afraid i can not give you anymore information about their mission."

(Hoshi Town)

"Isn't there an end to this?!" Zach muttered under his breath, swinging his shadow sword sidewards. He was succesful in knocking out two with that move. By this time, he was already exhausted. He knew he was reaching his limits, so was his companions but he refuses to give up. Not now. Returning to that hell was something he won't allow. He rather die than go back.

"Hang in there, guys!" The oldest in the group of five yelled out to his team, throwing a punch at one of the enemies.

"Celestial God's Blazing Kick!" The God Slayer shouted, engulfing his leg with golden fire. He swung his leg sidewards, sending two of his enemies flying.

"Oh, my. It seems that you're giving my men a hard time. That's really unexpected.." a new voice boomed, echoing through the clearing.  It sent shivers down their spine. The tone used was demonic and sadistic. They can't be wrong. It was a voice they knew too well. It haunted their dreams and brought too many horrifying memories. To Lucy, it reminded her of the sadistic laugh when he killed 'her' right before her eyes. He was there.. Layla's killer. To Max, Zach, Yuuki and Kurt, it was the same menancing tone he used whenever he comes to torture them. He's back.. Their Kidnapper.

  "Reaper.."
