•-BODE's POV-•
I can't believe it. I looked in disbelief at the cars rolling away. We all looked at each other as we all were still shock if either Pleadies being a traitor or them taking Andromeda. Suddenly I got mad and started to curse at myself. I should've protected her. It's all my fault. Just cuz she doesn't like me , doesn't mean I need to be mad at her. I needed to apologize but now she's gone. I stepped up and decided to ask everyone what our next plan would be.
"So what now? We're just going to let them take her away from us?" I asked.
"Look we need to continue the mission. Just because we lost a soldier doesn't mean we need to stop our mission." Hoag answered.
"But she's one of the prophecies to save the world from destruction. You said it ur self. We need her." Mayall commented back.
"Fine but our top priority is to find more survivors to help us rescue her. We will need all the equipment and people we can find." Hoag quickly responded confidently. Then off we were headed back to the Rebellion Center which would take about a week to get to on foot. As we were walking I felt Mayall's hand slip into mine. I looked at her and smiled. Though I really wish it was Andromeda's hand that was intwined with me.
"You alright?" Mayall looked in my eyes reassuringly.
"Yea just a little sad I guess." I replied back.
"I know you really love her. I can tell by the way you look at her and respond to commands. She's very lucky to have you." Mayall said back.
"I know it's just she doesn't like me back." I nudged my hand away from hers and went ahead near Hoag to help him wheel his chair.
"Bode I need you to take the position of Pleadies." He stated. I was shocked that he chose me and not Triffid.
"But sir. I don't want to take Triffids place." I replied sincerely.
"I know but right now it's temporary." He nodded and wheeled forward away from me. He came to the Rebellion Center and the Russian Government was there and beat us to it. They were laying dead bodies in a pile. A man stepped up and lit it on fire.
"Everyone get down to the side behind this bush." Hoag whispered harshly. We ducked away from the sight of them and saw the same cars that took Andromeda away. They had people going into a bus probably as prisoners. I looked at the car and could make out someone waving at me. It was Andromeda. I had to act fast in order to get to her. I looked at Mayall and grabbed her hands.
"I'm going to do something very dangerous and risky. But trust me." She then looked at me suspiciously and cautiously nodded her head. I snuck behind the truck and pretended I was one of the prisoners that escaped. A man suddenly grabbed my arm then looked at me. Another man came and they communicated in Russian. Instead of throwing me in the bus they threw me in the back of the car. I looked to the side and Andromeda was there too. When she noticed me her eyes widened and quickly hugged me tight. I wanted to hold on to her forever.
