AMBER'S POV
There was nothing unusual about Monday morning except the fact that I was running half an hour late.
I really need to get a grip and stop my late night depressing thoughts. But that is the only time I can actually talk to Dylan peacefully.

Focus. I thought and hopped into the shower.

Kissing Jenny's cheeks and yelling a goodbye to my dad, I made a dash towards my car with one shoe still in hand. I am so dead today, I thought looking at my watch.

Quickly parking my car, I made my way inside the mansion nervously. There stood Damien at the kitchen counter preparing coffee.

"Good morning Amber" he said turning to look at me.

He does not look angry.

Well then atleast don't jinx the situation for him to actually get mad, taunted my stupid mind.

He looked at his watch and was about to say something but I immediately interrupted him,
"Erm...I know Mr. Reed, I am late. But I promise this is the first and the last time this will happen. Please don't throw me out. I really need this job"
I said it all in one breath with a pleading tone, looking down at my shoes, not able to meet his eyes. The only thing Martha had said Damien didn't like was unpunctuality. I sighed thinking about it.

When there was no response for a few minutes, I looked up to meet his eyes to see him looking at me with a blank expression.

"Now that I have your attention, first thing is I do not like to be interrupted when I am talking" he paused for a few seconds probably to let my brain process his words,  "and second thing I was going to say was I will allow it since it is the first time but do not make it a habit"

Jerk.
But I cannot complain.
This Damien I can handle but the closeness with him is lethal, I thought remembering about past incident.

I quickly nodded my head unable to form any sentence. I sighed relieved. Atleast I still have the job.

With that he left for work and I busied myself with the household chores.

DAMIEN'S POV
As I went downstairs for breakfast, I was surprised to see that Amber was not here yet. Well that's surprising. She has been quite regular the past couple of weeks, I frowned thinking.

Looking at my watch, I made myself a quick toast. As I was preparing coffee, I heard her enter. I can feel her nervousness from here, I mused.

As I was about to tell that it was okay since it was her first time, she interrupted me and started talking without taking a breath. It took me a few seconds to process what she actually meant.

Seeing her fidgeting with her fingers nervously, a small smile threatened to break free. She actually looked cute. Shaking my head, I quickly dismissed the thought.

Telling her not to interrupt me and that she still had the job, I headed out.

That was rude, I usually do not behave like this, I frowned as I started driving. But actually I do!

Analysing my behaviour, I realised that I was defensive that she had already made up her mind about my reaction. Somehow, I did not want her to think bad about me but that's what I had actually done. This girl is seriously messing with my head.
I need to get a grip!

I soon reached my office building. There in my office stood Alex and Nick waiting for me. A smile crept on my face seeing Nick after a long time.
