30. EPILOGUE: Their journey!

7 years later

"Damien! Where do you think you are going at 2 in the morning! Come back here"
Damien groaned at bring caught sneaking out.
He wanted some mid-night snacks that Amber was quite possessive about and wouldn't share with him and the only way he could get them was if he could sneak them during the night.
Looks like that plan had failed too!

"Nowhere sweetheart, I was just going for a walk!" said Damien with a straight voice.

"Are you trying to make fun of me?" she said on the verge of crying
He sighed and started thinking about how to calm her down before he had to sleep on the couch...again! The last time was pretty nasty and he didnot want a repeat of it.
Pregnant women were scary. But pregnant Amber was downright terrifying.

She had completed her 8 months and was due anytime now.
(P.S. I have written completed 8 months and due. Writing 8 instead of 9 was not a mistake. You will know soon!)

"Shhh, darling, I am not going anywhere. Come here, let's sleep. We don't want you tired, now do we. And the little ones in there needs to sleep too" he said placing his palm on her tummy.
He couldn't get enough of the both of them. He talked to their babies all the time and they too had come to recognise his voice.
He made sure to remind his kids everyday that he loved them and would always be there when they needed him.
And also reminded their mother everyday how blessed he was to have her in his life and that he would forever love her.

They had decided on having 4 kids. Because everytime he saw his family, a overwhelming feeling gripped him. The thought of another addition to their family excited him, to feel the fatherhood all over again.
And because he loved to see Amber carrying his child.

With every pregnancy, she had only grown more beautiful and radiant. And he couldn't get enough of seeing her happy at being a mother.
He was everything that he had wanted in a wife...and more. And he couldnot have asked for a better mother for his kids.

The day Amber had the symptoms of her present pregnancy, they both had been thrilled.
Appointment after appointment with the doctor, it was finally the day they could actually see their baby clearly and find out the gender.
But then the baby had a twin too.
The initial anticipation of the news actually being true and then the speechlessness followed by the joy that they had experienced was not something they could ever forget.
They had been so happy that they had decided not to know the gender and wait until the babies were born.

Damien took extra care of her. Not that he didn't with their previous pregnancies but as much as he loved all his kids, these were a special duo. Another set of twins after Dylan and Vanessa to call his own.

Their love for each other had only grown over the past few years and looking at them, one could see them in love and how they complement each other.

"What do you think I am carrying? Do you regret the decision of not finding out their gender" she asked with her head on his chest and looking into his eyes.

"There has not been a single moment that I regret being with you.
And I do not care about the gender of our children because as long as they are healthy, I wouldn't ask for more.
And does it matter whether it would be a boy or a girl when we are going to love them no matter what?"
He said kissing her forehead.
Amber could not help but fall a little more for him.
