DAMIEN'S POV
I had been quite anxious when I had put the proposal in front of Amber. And needless to say, I had been dreading her response, given our situation.
But just a simple 'Yes' from her made me the happiest man alive. And I couldnot help but admire the beautiful woman in front of me for her confidence in me.
Her strength floored me. Inspite of having suffered so much, she was willing to not let her past ruin her future. To give us a chance inspite of her insecurities.
In that moment, I felt alive and invigorated, like never before. I could already see my future with her.
But I knew that I needed to handle my woman delicately, inspite of her strength.
'My Woman' had a beautiful ring to it.
And I couldnot help but keep repeating it in my head.
I plan to take everything slow with her. I do not want the depth of my feelings to scare her away or to suffocate her in this new relationship.
For I know that she still was not in love with me. Perhaps, getting there. But it will take sometime.
And I would give her all the time she needs to feel comfortable in this new relationship.
I was ready to wait forever.
Looking at the mother-daughter duo, I couldn't help but feel like the luckiest man alive.
And I plan to cherish these beautiful girls in my life forever.
AMBER'S FATHER'S POV
It is heart breaking to see your child hurting every moment, every second. Yet trying to be strong for everyone around her.
Looking at her makes me proud of the woman I have raised. And I cannot help but thank my wife over and over again for giving me a daughter like Amber.
The past few months have been agonising. And as much as it hurts to see my babygirl suffering, it pains more to see her not be able to move on. So innocent and so naive, she is everything a man could ever want....and more.
Yet she suffered the worst of the losses.
The loss of a life-partner.
The loss of your better half.
The loss of one who vows to be with you every step of the way and be there for you, no matter what.
I have prayed to God again and again to put my daughter out of her misery.
But I didnot really think that he would answer.
However, he did!
And I send a silent prayer of thanks to him.
Now looking at the young man standing in front of me with my granddaughter in his arms and Amber in his embrace, I cannot help the depth of emotions surrounding me, the thankfulness crippling me and happiness flowing through every pore in my body.
I bless the new family in my heart and pray for them to always be together. For their bond to strengthen with every step they take together.
