"Did I mention how sweet you are for a kidnapper?" I asked mockingly, my arms around Cole's neck as we swayed softly to the music.
"How many times do I have to tell you. I did not kidnap you!" he snapped releasing my waist immediately.
I glared at him removing my arms gently from his neck, resisting the urge to strangle him on the spot.
"Fine then, just explain to me how the heck I ended up tied by the wrists on the floor of this rat infested room." I snapped back crossing my arms over my chest.
"You tell me" Cole mumbled mirroring my actions.
I took a step closer to him as I narrowed my eyes.
"What was that Cole? Speak a bit louder I didn't hear you." I challenged, taking another step closer to him so there was barley an inch between us.
"What was what?" A voice spoke through the door way, making me immediately spring back from Cole.
"What was nothing." Cole said sounding bored. " I was just telling Maddie to get ready for dinner that's all." He finished, grabbing the CD player and saluting in my direction.
I raised my head to glance at the white haired boy in front of me. Shawn, I think.
I nodded in agreement looking directly at Shawn for the first time. His hair was still the same, extreme blond, but his eyes looked darker than the last time I'd seen them back at the woods. A small scar stretched from the end of his left eyebrow to the corner of his left eye.
"It had better be, now hurry up and get both your ass's down for dinner before we change our mind about feeding the both of you." Shawn finished before slamming the door behind him.
I stood in the empty room silent for a moment just staring at the door that Shawn had slammed.
"Yea, he has a permanent stick up his butt, don't worry about it." Cole insisted breaking the silence as he patted me gently on the shoulder.
"You up for some dinner?"
I nodded, too hungry to question why my kidnappers were inviting me to dinner.
~
I chewed silently keeping my eyes glued to my plate of boiled potatoes and chicken that tasted way too good to have been cooked by these certain type of male specie.
Cole sat beside me picking at his food while Shawn and the dark haired man that had captured me earlier in the woods sat opposite us, studying me carefully.
No one said a word, making the awkwardness prominent.
"I bet your confused as to why we would kidnap you then ask you to dine with us." The dark haired man asked observing me carefully.
I struggled to swallow the bit of potato that had turned to mush in my mouth as I met his dark eyes.
"W-" I coughed to clear my throat glancing at Cole, who's eyes where glued to his potatoes.
"Well, I-"
"Consider yourself lucky." The man said cutting me short.
I nodded immediately bringing my eyes back down to the food lying in front of me.
"So Maddie." Another voice spoke, bringing the attention of everyone at the table to Shawn.
"How much do your parents own?" He asked taking a sip of his drink, his eyes still glued to mine.
"Shawn!" Cole snapped immedietly, glaring at the white haired boy sitting opposite me at the dinner table.
"Shut up Cole, there's no point in waiting it out, we might as well be up front about it." Shawn retorted, shooting Cole a glare.
I continued to stare at my plate as my vision blurred slightly. When would this end?
Cole and Shawn continued to bicker loudly over the dinner table.
"You can't just ask her how much her parents own." Cole hissed, his hazel eyes darkening.
"Well we obviously didn't bring her here just to stare at her pretty little face." Shawn snapped.
"Speak for yourself." Cole snapped back as he narrowed his eyes.
"Yep, so it is true...your mother has dropped you more than once on that stupid little head of you--"
"Shut up, the both of you." The boys went silent as all eyes turned to the dark haired man, who had rudely interrupted their argument. "No one is holding her for ransom." He announced glaring at the two boys. "Yet" he added after a second thought.
Shawn shot him a quizzical look. His blue eyes serious.
"What use is she to us just sitting there?" Shawn fumed pointing a finger towards me. I shot him a glare as he got up to leave.
Cole got up, giving me an apologetic look as he followed Shawn, leaving me alone with the dark haired man. I took this as my opportunity to ask of my best friend.
"Where's Aaron?" I asked dropping my fork on my plate, no longer hungry.
The man didn't budge, but continued to eat his potatoes.
"Where's Aaron?" I asked again, trying to hide the tremble in my voice.
The man looked up at me this time, menace in his eyes.
"Your friend Aaron is safe and sound, all tucked up in his warm little bed in that ridiculous mansion of his." The man answered keeping his eyes fixed to mine.
I kept my gaze still as I stared hard at him, expecting more information.
"He and his family won't be getting any trouble from us if he agrees to keep his mouth shut." He said a grin appearing on his features at the look of horror on my face.
"But they are bound to know I'm missing, like I mean hello?" I pointed out trying to keep my voice even.
"Ah yes dear, but that's all part of the plan." He replied with a wink in my direction.
I stared in disbelief as he made his way to the door of the kitchen.
"Oh and don't forget to clear the dishes." He commanded turning around to face me.
I opened my mouth to protest, but he beat me to it.
"Oh, and you'll be staying here for a while, so the smartest thing you could do in your current situation, is obey...unless you want something to happen to that cute little sister of yours." He stated, exciting the room.
I sat frozen for a while as I felt the tears that had refused to leave, finally roll down my cheek.
