Adriane rushed to the lake, splashing much-needed water all over her face. "Who am I? Who am I to even live, to breathe while everyone I love is dead?!" she stared at her reflection in the water, tears falling like raindrops, the light glistening in their clarity. "My mother, my father, my bonded, my packmate. They're dead, dead because of me, my carelessness, fear, failure to protect the ones I love. It's all my fault! I brought my family to ruin! I destroyed two of the closest friends I've had! With one of them being almost like a sister to me! I caused their deaths! Kara was right about me, I really am a lone wolf! A lone wolf who deserves exile, who betrayed her packmates, lied to everyone, lead her pack to their demise!" A deceiver who tricked her packmates into aiding her, an angel of death!" Adriane looked at her reflection in hatred, why did she even get a chance at life? The tears stopped, fear took over as her reflection started becoming more and more distorted, until it wasn't hers anymore. What Adriane saw instead, was the face of a monster. The face of the Dark Sorceress. Something else in the water caught her attention. Black liquid moved like snakes in the water, leaving a murky trail. The way it moved was odd, as if someone was writing with it, directing it path. Letters? I,k,n,o,w,a,r,e,h,o,y,o,u,w? That's weird Adriane thought to herself, letters in the water? No wait it looks like words now. Adriane gasped in shock at what was in front of her eyes: I know who you are. Those words, why were they so familiar? She could've sworn she'd heard that before! Her father, of course! He had told her those words everyday! But, question is why? As if by magic, more words floated in the water. They, never, you, secret, your,we,one,in,the, same,I,am,dark, side, told, warrior. Rearranging the words in her mind, that would mean: They never told you your secret? We are one in the same, I am your dark side, warrior. "Who are you? Adriane shouted desperately for an answer. But there was nothing. She closed her eyes, two more words appeared out of nowhere: Look down. Look down? Look down where? She asked herself in confusion. Here. She obeyed and looked down, down into the water, only to see that same, monstrous face that belonged to the Dark Sorceress! No! No this can't be happening! This has to be a dream! A nightmare! But as much as she wanted to believe that very thing, shadows from behind left their owners, painting the words Adriane dreaded the most: No matter what you do, this will never change. So tell me warrior, will you fight the darkness and lose everything? Or will you accept it and embrace your true destiny? Adriane? There's still plenty of time though, don't rush, all you have to do is tell me when you feel like having a change. The shadows faded, leaving a bewildered Adriane to her thoughts.....
One will see in darkness
