Chapter 22: Help me!

Adriane's heart skipped a beat at the horrible sight in front of them. Dreamer was locked up in a cage just like the others, but something was off. His cage was different, it was programmed to electrocute the jet-black wolf every 5 minutes! Adriane watched in fear as long,jagged lightning sent searing pain into the mistwolf's body, his face twisted as the shock ran through his fur, sending pain all over. Shiny felt anger flow through her, who in their right hand mind would treat other animals this way?! Shiny used Dark Pulse! It's a 1-hit KO! In seconds the cage shattered into a billion,metallic pieces. "Wow, Shiny that was amazing! I never knew you could do that!" Adriane cheered as Dreamer jumped out of his former prison. The joy didn't last long however, the mistwolf rushed at Adriane, his shoulder slammed into her right side, knocking her down to the ground. Hard. "Dreamer!!! Dreamer what's wrong?! You normally never act this way!!" Adriane cried in terror as large,sharp teeth sank into her skin causing her to howl in agony! "DREAMER!!!! THIS ISN'T YOU!!!! STOP IT!!!!" Blood ran down her neck from the affliction, she felt her strength start to fade. Dreamer couldn't listen, as if something was controlling him! "Your wolf is mine!!!!" what, Chain?! Was it him? she asked herself as he tore through her left arm, as much as she wanted to say it was make-believe, she couldn't deny reality: it was really Chain and now he was possessing Dreamer!!! Her energy declined rapidly now, anguish erupted throughout her body, soaked with tears and blood. Just as she thought it was the end, a black and blue shadow whipped past her fallen form. Shiny?! Adriane did a quick mental list of all the strong physical attacks she knew: (Night Slash? Nope. Assurance? Burning hot! Payback? Close but with more power. The strongest Dark type move she knew was Punishment. Oh no. Shiny's a Normal type but since she transformed into Umbreon now she's a Dark type. That means Punishment will do more damage since they're both the same type!) Adriane trembled with shock at the sight before her: Shiny was just about to land a critical hit on Dreamer when-"Shiny, please stop." her voice barely a whisper. At the sound of her friends voice, she stopped. Shiny didn't mean to hurt Dreamer, but she couldn't just stand there and do nothing! She couldn't just watch Adriane suffer while Dreamer was attacking her! So she did what she could do: Use Punishment as a shield (with less power). That way she could protect Adriane and not leave Dreamer with any serious injuries. But before she even had time to blink, Dreamer slashed at Adriane's chest, his claws digging into her skin, leaving deep blood-ridden gashes as a result. "Dreamer! Please...stop..." Adriane's breath was slowing, pangs of distress and guilt overrode her mind. "Dreamer...can you hear me? Please....please don't.....hurt Shiny, she's one of my best friends and.......and I don't want anything bad to happen to her. Dreamer......forgive me...........packmate............." those were the last words she spoke. Her world went black.
