My eyes shot open at the startling sound of my alarm clock. Immediately, dread was shown all over my face. I stretched out of bed before walking in my bathroom. I brushed my teeth, gurgled with Listerine and hopped in the shower.
After I got out, I ran my fingers through my thick curly hair before I plugged in my flat-iron. It took me about an hour and a half to flat-iron my armpit length coily hair. I ran to my walk-in closet to grab my black tank top and light blue high-waisted skinny jeans. Something simple. After all, it was only the middle of August and I had no one to impress. I slipped on some black furry slides on my white-painted toes and walked downstairs to join my mother.
"Hey, mom." My mom was the complicated one in our relationship. She had her good days and her bad days. She boasted my head to be confident and that's what went towards my attitude. I told her most things but not everything.
"Hey baby," she gave me a kiss on my cheek. I grabbed the keys to my pre-owned 2016 cocaine white Audi R8. No, I'm not spoiled at all. I earned this baby. I saved since I was 14 to get this car. A fifty dollar a week allowance and part-time jobs went long ways.
I hopped in the car before I got a text from a familiar contact.
Girl, can you please pick me up. I just missed my bus.
Taylor. 6:55 amOkay, see you soon. ❤
Loyalty 6:56 amTaylor, Taylor, Taylor. I knew that crazy girl since 3rd grade. She is the only, I mean ONLY girl that I fuck with at that school. She has been by my side for whatever she is literally like my sister. Blood couldn't make us any closer.
I drove off to pick her up. She came out wearing a white crew neck, white joggers with some white air force 1s.
"Girl, are you ready for these barbies?," she asked.
"Hell nah," I responded.
Taylor had a thick frame with curves. Her mahogany skin glowed in the Los Angeles sun. I sped off in the whip and parked in the student parking lot. When we entered the hallway, we were the center of attention.
I swayed my hips from side to side, not caring how many females were whispering. I made it to my locker and put my combination in. I pulled out my textbooks and my iPad to take notes on.
"Hey Lo-Lo, can we talk?," a voice asked, startling me. Turning around to see my ex boyfriend Rodney made my resting face turn into a scowl. We went out for about a year last year, until I found out he couldn't handle being with some one who was serious. One who didn't entertain his foolish games.
I never gave it up. EVER. My mother said you have to always give them a sample so they can stick around for the real thing.
Please, he cheated before I could even show him what I was working with. What a loss.
"That's not my name. If you are going to address me, address me right. My name is Loyalty Nina Parker, get it straight. Please and thank you."
"See this is the reason we ain't together," he retorted swiping his tongue across his bottom lip. The school year just started not too long ago and he's already with the bullshit.
"No, the reason we are not together is because you cheated on me with a happy meal looking ass bitch, and not sticking with your rice and cabbage."
"Girl, Don't worry about that fuck nigga. He's not even worth your time," Taylor reminds me grabbing my wrist and pulling me away.
I chuckled as she sized him up and down.
"You're right. Fuck him."
