"Girl, hurry up! This game starts in forty-five minutes! I don't want to let Coach Johnson down," I whined holding down my ear. Taylor burnt me with the curling iron three times and had the nerve to say "It was just the steam." Bullshit.
"Said the one who wanted to quit."
"I did. Coach told me after this game I'm no longer apart of the team," I corrected with smile.
She stepped back and observed me not saying a thing. See, Taylor thought it would be a terrific idea to bleach my bundles and style it.
"Take a pic for my snap. Smile!" she demanded making me turn her way.
Walking to the bathroom, I couldn't help but smile when I saw my reflection in the mirror. I had to admit, Taylor did a hell of a job with the look.
"Lo, come on! You're over there in the mirror just looking and shit but you were just rushing me!," she called making me snap out of my daze. I threw my keys at her and replied, "Whatever. Start the car I'll be down there in a minute."

Only ten seconds left in the game. It was our ball. Number 56 passes the ball to Julian who dribbles the ball for a second. Eight seconds left. Everyone's eyes where glued to the score board. I see him getting in the stance he practiced in his bedroom. He was going to attempt a full-court shot!
"Oh no, Julian," I whisper while biting my yellow acrylic manicure.
"You got it, bae!," Ta'Shay yells jumping up and down. If she don't shut up...
Swish! The entire gym erupted with cheers. With two seconds left in the game and a score of 27-19, we automatically won. All of his teammates rush over to him including Ta'Shay. Julian swiftly picked her up, bridal style and planted a kiss on her lips. His teammates were chanting "P.C!" And there I was just standing there.
Lonely, embarrassed, humiliated. "So you not gon' say nothing? That bitch been plotting, trying to get to Julian. Say the word and I'll slice that bitch," Dee remarked taking off her earrings. I chuckled trying to hide the pain.
