I waited until my mom left the house to enter again

I waited until my mom left the house to enter again. When I saw her silver Ford Fusion pull off, I gave a sly smile. For the most part, I was doing a good job of keeping my suspension a secret. I only had a couple of days left and I was relieved. Racing upstairs to my room, I threw down my bookbag and turned on the T.V to watch daytime television.

However, as minutes and hours passed by, I was slowly dying of boredom. Then something clicked. I swiftly hopped out of bed and walked in my closet to see the worn out cardboard box peeking through my clothes. I grabbed it by the corners and dragged it by my bed. Using my house key to open it, I was a little reluctant to open the box up. When I did all I could do was leave my mouth open.

The first thing I grabbed was the note that read: "Happy Birthday, Loyalty. Before you trip, just know I didn't splurge all at once. These were gifts that I started to buy when you first told me when your birthday was. Every gift has a purpose."

"Starting with these hair products," I started to read out loud as I looked in the box and saw various jars and tubes of natural hair products. "I noticed when we went on our first date, you had a failed twist-out. Here are some better products I think you would like." Oh, you little smart ass, I chuckled in my head.

"Lipgloss. I know you love it dearly so I spent almost fifty dollars on all these damn tubes," the note continued. I smiled as I imagined him grabbing an assortment of glosses at once and throwing them on the counter.

"Also, some Victoria's Secret and Pink. You don't know the struggle of trying to analyze your correct size by photographic memory and pictures of you in my phone. Plus, I refused help so if I got some things wrong-- forgive me. There is a receipt just in case." I looked down and saw every clothing item neatly folded along with some fragrances on top.

"Sidenote: I observe that the Boyshorts and Cheeksters are you're favorite," I read out loud with a giggle.

I dug deeper into the box and grabbed a box which turned out to be a shoebox. Looking down into the box I found another one. Taped to the top was a hand-written note that read: "Please Open Me!"

I followed the instructions and shrieked in excitement when I saw the powder pink Nike Air Max 97's that I've talking about for the longest. "I got tired of you reposting these on Instagram so, here you go," I read off of the paper.

"This is crazy," I whispered to myself. I quickly opened up the other box and it was some yellow Fila Disruptor II's. I already knew he had something slick to say because he kept complaining how ugly they were. "I don't have much to say. Here are your space shoes, Sandy Cheeks."

My heart jumped for joy when I picked up the double packaged gallon-sized zip lock bag that contained pre-rolled blunts and some twenty dollar bills. At the very bottom of the box was an abundance of my favorite snacks.

"And last but not least I got you a lil sumn sumn for when you need to ease your mind. I know living with your mom can be a little stressful. Sidenote: Go get your hair done, your nails and feet done. Go treat yourself," the note concluded.
