"She needs to bring her slow ass on, man," I cut off the engine and waited at least 20 minutes before Taylor finally came outside.
"Hey boo," Taylor said before she hopped in the car. I rolled my eyes and sucked my teeth as I started up my car.
"Ain't no "Hey boo" I waited almost a half an hour just to go out of my way to pick your turtle moving ass up!"
"Shut up, you know you like picking me up," she smirked.
I huffed before I turned up the radio and Don't by Bryson Tiller came on.
I observed her plugging in her aux cord and turning on 21 Savage. Did she just-? Oh no no.
"Bitch, don't you ever touch my radio," I warned her before turning it back.
"While you all up in your feelings, are you going to the pool party on Saturday?," she wondered adjusting her pink crop top that read, Flawless.
"No, probably not. I not really into it. It's not my kind of crowd," I answered pulling up at a traffic light.
She sucked her teeth. "Give me one reason, why?," she demanded.
"I'll gladly give you two," I laughed adjusting my hair in the mirror.
She cocked her head to the side waiting for a response.
"Look, to be honest, I really don't feel like going and I don't have time Rodney and his lil Chihuahua's bullshit."
"Please, go for me," she pleaded.
"Alright, damn," I said agitated.
She immediately started grinning. "Oh, and I hear that you and Julian are starting to get a little cozy," she sang.
"And where did you get that from?," I questioned easing my foot on the gas.
"Chile, Julian has told everybody at school that you're his girl," Taylor answered. All I did was nod and she gave me a crazy reaction. I didn't even confirm it.
I pulled up in the student parking lot putting my student ID around my neck.
Scanning around the hallway, I spotted Julian with some of his new friends. I sashayed over to him and gave him a kiss him on the cheek.
"Aww, y'all are goals," one of them said.
He waved his friends off and I felt him wrap his arms around my waist. He stared in my eyes before his hand wandered on my ass.
"Are you going to the pool party on Saturday?," he asked.
"Only if you are. Since you are claiming that I'm your girl," I answered honestly looking up at his face.
"I guess we're going then."
"Anyway, I should be going to class now," I dismissed myself.
That Saturday...
I looked in the mirror at my figure. Julian decided that he was gonna meet me there. Taylor's slow ass, of course, wants me to pick her up.
My hair which stayed flat ironed was down cascading past my shoulders. I put on some matching pink gladiator sandals that snaked around my calves. I slowly walked downstairs passing my mom in the front room.
