Shay+Severide

Shay was having Fourth of July celebrations at her house this year, thanks to the massive back yard, pool and out door kitchen. Her husband Kelly and he's best mate Matt both designed and built the out door area before they where called off to war. Shay placed her baby girl in her crib before walking down stairs to let Brett and Chilli in.

"Hey guys, come though to the kitchen" she said as they walked in the girls had offered to come over and help set up.
"So who's on grill tonight?" Asked Chilli
"Mills and Dawson are going to fight over it" she replied
"Like always" said Brett spotting the returned mail
"Still no luck getting these though then" she commented
"No, I don't know what's wrong, I keep asking Dawson and it's the same with her" she said hearing the door open

"I heard my name!" She said walking though the hallway slowly
"Yeah, we were just talking about you!" Said a Brett laughing moving to grab beers from the fridge
"Hope you don't mind but I brought someone with me" she said as she rounded the corner followed by First Sergeant Matthew Casey

"Matt?" Asked Brett laughing
"CASEY!" She said jumping into he's arms hugging him
"Hey legs off the fiancé!" Said Gabby laughing
"The what?" The girls asked
"Yeah it was the first thing I asked her this morning, spent the rest of the day looking for the perfect ring" he said as Shay jumped off him and grabbed a hold of the ring

"Have you told him?" Asked Shay
"Told him? I bragged like I was her mother!" Replied laughing
"Ah yes! The beautiful girl that's going to steal Kelly's heart, can I meet her?" He asked
"Yes but I wanna know why our mail kept being returned!" Demanded Shay
"Things got dicey and the stopped all none related communication in and out of the base, you have no idea how many times we would sit down and just talk to each other about you two" he said
"Where is he?" She asked
"I'm sorry I don't know, we got seperate once we got to Turkey, I thought he'd be home by now" said Casey, knowing exactly where Severide was and he wasn't the only one in for a shock tonight.

"Alright, come meet her" said shay leaving the room first
"Casey! You know exactly where he is don't you?" Asked Chilli. All he did was chuckle and wink at the girls before following Shay. Up in the nursery Shay stood over her baby girl waiting for Matt, picking her up as he walked in. He gasped seeing the tiny child in Shay's arms

"Matt, say hello to Alexis Maria Severide, born on the 29th of November, she was three almost four months early. She is seven months old and the light of my life" she said
"Want to hold your Goddaughter?" Asked Shay shocking him
"What?" He asked
"It's what Kelly would have wanted. Your he's best friend" she said passing the small child over.
"She an angel" he said as they walked back down stairs, and into the kitchen

"Gabby, looks like you've got competition" said Herrmann
"Hey man" he said looking up
"Good to have you back" he said clapping he's shoulder as people moved outside Matt stayed in the kitchen, captivated by the little one in he's arms

"Matt, I want one" said Gabby taking the little girl from him
"Hey I wasn't ready to let her go! But totally have one of our own" he said as they moved outside, following he's girl, who passed the small child off to Cindy. Before moving to the grill fighting with Mills over the tongs. An hour later he's phone pinged, he opened it seeing a text from Severide.

"Hey Shay, gabby lets head inside!" Yelled Casey
"What? Why?" She asked confused and slightly stubborn
"Don't be so damn stubborn and just go inside!" He said as Gabby picked Lexi up and they moved inside, as Casey started recording what was happening, the rest of the house got curious and followed them inside as well.

"What Matt?!" She asked annoyed turning to face him, a pair of hands covered her eyes and she could hear the people in front of her go quiet
"Guess who" said a voice she'd know even if she was dead
"K-Kelly?" She said starting to cry as he turned her around. She started crying and sunk down onto the floor, the sound of her mum crying got Lexi crying too, who was being soothed by Gabby. Kelly got down to Shay's level and hugged her as she clunk onto him.

"Leslie could you look at me?" He asked quietly, as she looked up at him
"Leslie Elizabeth Shay, I have loved you since you walked into 51 and not being able to talk to you for the past year has been hell. I love you and only you. And I don't want to live without you is please Leslie. marry me?" He asked her as she looked at him shocked, all she could do was nod her head as he slipped he ring on her finger and kissed her.

"Wait!" She said standing up and walking over to Gabby taking her daughter from her godparents
"Kelly meet Alexis, your daughter" she said, it was he's turn to be shocked
"My daughter? I wish I'd have known" he said taking her from Shay.

"I'll tell you everything later" she said as they went out and celebrated with the rest of the house.

"So Mrs Severide to be, how do you feel now?" Asked Gabby
"Like I've won the lottery" she said laughing, watching Her fiancé interact with he's best friend and healthy little girl.
"I told Casey I wanted a baby" said Gabby looking at Matt laugh with Kelly
"Oh yeah?" She asked as her best friend just looked at her winked and walked off to her fiancé laughing at someone Kelly said while giving Casey a kiss
