"And this is fair for you?" Asked Severide standing in front of him. Matt looked over at Kelly before sighing

"Well no, but I haven't exactly been fair with her" He said looking down before continuing to fix the wall.

"Fight for her man" Said Severide walking off as Matt muttered something.

It had been almost a month since Gabby walked out and things had been going alright at work. One shift Matt had no choice but to yell at her over a stupid, but smart decision.

"Gabby! Hey! Wait up!" He yelled after shift racing out of the house to catch her

"What?" She asked annoyed. This shift had been crappy and she just wanted to go back to Sylvie's and sleep

"Look I'm sorry about today. I was worried the entire time you where inside that building! but ah nice save" He said to her

"Matt! I'm a trained paramedic and a firefighter with a brother thats a cop you know this! so you know I can handle myself" She said to him as Sylvie walked passed them

"I know but that doesn't stop me from worrying. Your my girl" he said to her

"Thanks Matt" She said before walking off as Severide came up to him and gave him a look, Matt rolled he's eyes and shoved he's friend towards he's truck

The following morning Sylvie and Gabby where sat at the table in the kitchen having food and talking.

"So what did Casey have to say?" She asked

"That he was sorry for yelling" She Gabby as the doorbell rang

"What the?" Asked Sylvie walking away she came into the kitchen about two minutes later

"Someone is most definitely sorry!" she said laughing as Gabby jumped up from her seat

"What?" she asked rushing over to her and taking the card from the stem in the bunch of red, yellow, purple and pink roses

"To Gabby. With love from Matt. Ps Sylvie should know what the roses mean" she read out loud

"How do you know what flours mean?" She asked her friend

"My mother" she answered laughing

"Oh gosh their just beautiful" Said Gabby

"Yeah, they stand for love, friendship and love at first sight. Girl you have to talk to him!" She said

"Not yet! I wouldn't even know what to say. I'm sorry for walking out I was an idiot?" she asked her friend

"Well that's a start" She replied laughing.

"Not like I can give him a bouquet of beer either" She said laughing

"Gabby Sylvie. How was your weekend?" asked Severide as they changed into their uniforms for shift

"Yeah pretty good. Relaxing" Said Gabby

"Why someone got flower and couldn't stop blushing every time she looked at them" She said seeing Matt walk in

"Oh should I be jealous?" He asked acting like he had no clue. Gabby turned and raised her eye brow at him

"Hmmm maybe" She said before walking off as Matt laughed

"So she seriously couldn't stop blushing?" He asked her

"Nope. Your doing a good job Matt. Seriously" She said walking away as he turned and hi-fived Severide

Things had been slowly getting better between the two. The bombing at Chicago Med brought them a step closer whilst also throwing them miles apart. Then the whole thing with stilettos. He was glad Gabby could joke about it with them. Then came that night where Jack had the gun to Casey's head. If only he could get out of here. Get to Gabby. Things would be better. He loved her. He kept repeating her name over and over and over in he's head as he was beaten and almost left for dead. Her brother happened to be the one to find him.

"Gabby! Get here now!" Said he's brother not bothering for her to even say hello

"Send me the address!" She said racing out of the house. As her phone pinged she drove straight to the address pulling up to a street filled with cop cars and a few ambos. She raced up the stairs but was stopped by an officer she didn't know

"I'm look for" She started to say before seeing two officers walk out of a room followed by matt

"MATT! MATT!" She yelled as he stopped

"Let her through!" Yelled Antonio from up the stairs as the officer stood aside she raced in and straight into he's arms

"I'm Ok, i'm ok" he said to her kissing
