Chicago Fire Oneshots

What?!

"Before you all leave I have a few major announcements to make" Called Boden at the end of one shift. It had been a trying one. Kelly was out due to being injured during the day, Brett was staying with him so Gabby had jumped back onto Ambo with Chilli for the day. 

"As you know today was my last shift, so next shift you'll have a new permanent Chief. Treat him with respect, I do not want to come down here to beat your asses!" He said. Boden was moving on up to the Ivory tower.

"Kelly will be out for a few weeks possible 3-5 months depending on what he's shoulder does which means he'll have a replacement treat them with respect as well" He said looking around

"Do you want to know who these people are?" asked Boden as everyone nodded at him

"ok Herrman will be taking over as Lieutenant on truck 81" He said looking at Matt

"What you expect me to do a squads job?" He asked almost laughing

"you have been trained on squad Casey" he said holding up an envelope

"In my hand I have the fate of squad 3. Dawson? Do you want me to read it out?" asked Boden as she nodded now looking scared. Matt looked over at her and saw this moving over to pull he's wife into he's side. Boden Opened the letter and read through it. Before chuffing out and smiling

"What is it Boden?" Asked Casey as Gabby turned into he's side.

"With her result of 98.7% and her exceptional passing marks on all her squad units Dawson has passed her lieutenants test. Squad 3 say Hi to you're new Lieutenant!" he said as everyone screamed jumping up and down. Before Matt realised something and stopped. Everyone looking at him confused.

"No!" He said looking at Boden

"What?" He asked looking confused

"No nu huh! No way!" He said when it finally settled into he's mind. He looked down at Gabby who looked confused and then thought everything over. If Hermenn was being moved up on truck and she was moving across to Squad where did that leave Matt? Then it hit her too

"Oh my god!" She said grabbing onto him as everyone was looking on confused

"Guys! What is going on?" Asked Otis as their Chief laughed

"Firehouse 51. Welcome you're new Chief. Our very own Matthew Casey" Said Boden as everyone started screaming again.

"You're not joking right?" He asked over everyone as Boden came over to them

"Definitely not. Matthew, it has been an honour to be your chief since my first day here. You welcomed me into this house and kept the boys inline. I know with all my heart that you'll make an amazing Chief and an amazing leader to these guys, we may have lost a few people along the way but we haven't lost the heart and soul of this house. Never ever lose that, cause that's when you start losing you're firefighters and EMTs" He said to Matt as he nodded tearing up. He still had he's arm around Dawson and he hadn't realised until she leaned up to kiss he's cheek

"Oh and you'll be receiving a two new candidates plus and EMT cadet" said Boden

"Oh now you tell me!" he said laughing

"Drinks at Molly!" shouted Hermann

"Yeah but first to the hospital! We have a family member to support!" said Dawson as they laughed exiting the house and moving to their cars. They drove off to the hospital to see how Severide was doing.

Kind of a short one only 580 words, I've had the idea sitting there for a while just didn't know how to write it. I guess if you want to relate it to the TV show it'd be that last 5 minute thing they do at the end of the episode. =)
