Detective Chuckles

So I feel like there is a story behind Jay's Detective Chuckles so here it is. In this story Jay has come up the ranks at the 21st and Platt has known him since he started at the Academy. He did go through the Army Rangers still

Jay walked into he's district early one morning, it was cold out side he came inside in a huff pumping into a younger cadet

"Hey watch where you're going!" He yelled rolling he's eyes

"well aren't you a bag of laughs this morning" said Platt as he rolled he's eyes

"It's so damn cold outside Sarge!" He said complaining

"We'll add another layer to you're uniform" she told him as he walked off to change.  He came back out a few minutes later and walked over to the desk

"So good news or bad news?" She asked him

"ah bad?" he asked her

"Your partner called in sick. Flu" She told him as he sighed out

"Alright chuckles, good news is you'll be upstairs today helping out on the phones" She told him

"great! not only is partner not here but i'm benched!" He said

"Calm down Chuckles and I'll buzz you up" She told him as he moved over to the gate.

Needless to say after that day Jay never lost the nickname of chuckles with Platt. It annoyed him at times but other times he didn't mind too much. If he was honest since he moved up to Vice as a detective he missed it. Which is why he was smiling ear to ear when he walked into the 21st that after noon.

"chuckles! Long time no see!" Said Platt

"That is detective chuckles to you!" He told her laughing

"Commanders office is over there" He said as someone called out to him

"Antonio? What are you doing here?" he asked confused

"Same as you it would seem" He said walking over to the office walking in they found 5 other people in the room

"Mouse?" asked Jay confused. He'd gotten Mouse, a friend and former Army Ranger a job with the CPD  when he was ready enough to work after coming back from their tour.

"Hey man, do you know what this is about?" he asked sounding worried

"Nah I don't" He said seeing one of the detective, or he assumed was a detective, she was stunning and in plain cloths, smirk

"But I'm tipping you know why" he said to her

"who me? no" she said looking away as Antonio laughed

"That is Detective Erin Lindsey, She's currently over with Major Crimes" He said as Jay nodded. A few minutes later the door opened and the commander of the 21st walked in. He looked around the room and then at Erin

"Erin! What are you doing in here! I thought you'd be upstairs already" he said to her

"What and miss out on their faces? No way!" she said laughing. From where Jay stood he could tell that she had connections in the police force but what exactly he wasn't too sure of.

"Alright then, if you're not aware, we've disbanded our recent IU squad, due to the fact that they are currently under investigation by internal affairs. Your new sergeant has asked specifically for you guys." He said as Erin now looked over at Jay

"Our new Sargent?" he asked confused

"Yes, He's up stairs with Alvin Olinsky. Ready to go up?" he asked them

"Ah yeah" They said walking out after him

"So ah I'm Jay Halstead" He said to Erin

"Erin Lindsey" she replied to him shaking he's hand

"Hey Chuckles! Move it!" Yelled Platt as he snapped out of he's daze and ran off. Leaving Erin blushing. She shook her head ran after the group bounding up the stairs. 

"Hank!" Yelled Erin racing over to one of the guys standing in the middle of the bullpen

"Erin" He said taking her into he's arms and hugging her

"So glad you're ok" She said to him

"I told you exactly that kid" he replied looking up

"Welcome to the new Intelligence Unit. Those of you still in uniform, go back to your districts grab your bags get back here and change, those of you already in plain cloths, you can head back after shift" He said looking around

"Well get moving!" He said as Erin and Jay moved to sit at desks directly across from each other.

"So you know the sarge?" He asked her

"Ah now that is a story for a different day" She told him smirking
