this was a request, on my LJ. I hope I did it justice. I decided to go with Zac and Brielle from my fic "Scream and Be Free", because they're such a lovely pair.

-----------------------

"You are a dead man!" Zac heard his girlfriend shout at him, from somewhere on the other side of the snow bank.

The last he had saw her, she was running by at a furious pace, trying not to get smacked with the snow balls being hurled her way. In Zac's defense, she had started it. He had been minding his own business, shoveling off the small walk way into the rented cottage, when Brielle had sauntered by, launching a giant snow ball toward his head. Gathering a handful of snow, Zac packed the perfect snow ball, tossing it and watching as it sailed over the small snow bank.

"Jerk." Brielle called from the other side, a snow ball of equal size landed a few inches from Zac's feet.

In hind sight, maybe this wasn't such a grand idea.

Brielle had thought it'd be cute to start a snow ball fight, now that she was hiding behind a pile of snow and freezing her ass off, this was one of the worst ideas she'd ever had. No it wasn't, not entirely anyway. It wasn't all bad. Besides, if she played her cards right this could all end in her favour. Brielle yelped as a snow ball nearly hit her in the head, bouncing to the side she tried her best to duck and cover from the assault. Throwing a snow ball back in Zac's direction, she blindly began making and throwing them, hoping for the best. A few times she heard a groan or a shout, telling her the target had been hit.

As the saying goes...it's all fun and games.

Thankfully, this time nobody was injured. Resting easy as the snow ball fire seemed to halt, Brielle found herself grinning from ear to ear. Did this mean Zac had surrendered? She knew he'd eventually give in, allowing her to win. He was good at letting her have her own way. Brielle's moment of feeling victorious was short lived, when Zac grabbed her from behind.

"Let go!" she wiggled around, trying to get free from his grasp.

"You started this." he laughed, tickling her sides.

"Please, Zac, let me go." Brielle pleaded, shrieking in laughter and partly in disbelief as a cold, wet mound of snow slid down her back. She had deserve it for smashing him in the face with a snow ball. She claimed it had been an accident, which wasn't entirely a lie. "Okay, okay you win!" she declared, laughing and trying to shake the snow from the back of her jacket.

Her laugh was contagious. It floated through the snow filled air, causing Zac to laugh along with her. Brielle was different than what Zac was used to. His ex wife, Kate could be fun when she wanted to, but it was rare she ever fully let loose and just enjoyed the moment – no matter how silly it was. Brielle loved letting things go, not bothering to worry much. She enjoyed the littlest things and Zac liked that about her. She knew how to take a moment and make the absolute best out of it, pulling all the good for everybody around her to enjoy.

Flopping down on a small snow covered grass patch, Brielle huffed and pulled off her soaking wet mittens. Rubbing her nose, she went a bit cross eyed trying to look at it.

"My nose is cold." Brielle wrinkled her nose and sniffled. "My ass is wet too."

"C'mon." Zac held out his hands, pulling her back to her feet. "Let's get inside and get your ass dry."

He didn't have to tell Brielle twice. She was up and inside in a flash. Zac followed her into the cottage, watching as she stripped off her layers of clothing, leaving a trail to the bathroom. Hanging his jacket and kicking off his boots, leaving them in their proper place Zac followed Brielle's trail of wet winter clothes.
