Here is some more Dan, by request. It goes along with Baby Blues.

-----------------------

It was two minutes away from 6:30PM when the buzzer to the apartment went off; Fiona had said she would be there by 6:30 and she wasn't too far off. Always punctual, Dan liked that. Taking the stairs to the third floor apartment, Fiona had managed to calm the nerves that had crept up on her. If she were the type to be less cynical, she would even dare to say the nerves in the pit of her stomach were cliched butterflies.

She had found herself really liking Dan and his easy going, sweet demeanor. The handsome Australian was slowly working his way into her feelings and it was driving her crazy, in the best way. Fiona had barely knocked when Dan eagerly swung the door open and ushered her inside. Greeting her with a kiss on the cheek and a comforting hug.

"You made it!" He sounded almost shocked that she were there.

They had a date, after all. When Dan had suggested they have a night in, Fiona had happily agreed. A night, just the two of them, tucked away to enjoy each others company sounded perfect.

"Of course! Did you think I was going to miss it?" Fiona chuckled lightly.

"No, no of course not." Dan laughed, rubbing his hand against his jean clad thigh. His hands were sweaty and his heart felt as if it would beat out of his chest.

They'd been going on dates at least once a week, yet tonight was the time his nerves ate at him. Dan needed to relax, this was going to be fine.

"I hope this is okay." Dan nervously rubbed his hands together. "Going out seemed over rated, so, I have a mushroom and spinach pizza and I grabbed a bottle of Dolcetto."

Fiona would never have to find out that somebody else had made the pizza for him. Had Dan tried to accomplish that, then she would have arrived to a burnt dinner or worse - the fire department leaving.

"Wine and pizza, count me in." Fiona smiled dropping her purse onto a kitchen chair.

She had only been to his apartment once before and she hadn't exactly been taking in the decor. Now that the lights were on and she had more time to look around, there was a certain appreciation for the one bedroom space. Minimal yet cozy, very Dan.

"The pizza has to finish up, uh...make yourself at home."

Fuck why was he so damn nervous? They'd been seeing each other long enough now that the nerves shouldn't be an issue. Almost four months, Dan wasn't exactly counting or anything, okay he was.

"Um, Dan." Fiona pointed to the living room floor. "What's going on there?" She took in the sight of blankets, cushions, and various pillows strewn neatly into a pile between the couch and the television.

"Right." Dan cleared his throat, rubbing his hands against his jeans again. "I remember you saying that you're a fan of classic films and I thought, maybe, we could watch one?"

How much of a lame idea was that? He was probably trying too hard and it was showing. What was so lame about listening to something a woman said? Dan wasn't entirely sure, but now that he had said this out loud, to Fiona the entire evening sounded boring. Fiona was anything but boring.

"Are you serious?" Fiona's face lit up, her perfectly painted lips turning into a smile and her blue eyes were almost twinkling. Dan nodded stupidly in surprise. "Oh my god, Danny, this is perfect!" She placed her hand on his shoulder, leaving a peck on his cheek.

Nobody called him Danny, ever. He loathed being called Danny, but if Fiona wanted to call him Danny then he wouldn't correct her. Coming from her, it almost sounded cute. Fiona calling him Danny was less annoying and more endearing than when others, even his own mother, did it.
