Gazing at the unknown number glowing on the face of his cell phone, Liam anxiously took the call. He had been frantic the last two days, answering every call that came in, hoping and wishing they would be the person who told him the good news he so desperately wanted.

Clearing his throat, he pressed the green button on the screen. "Hello?" his voice was as smooth as he could master, trying to hide the fear.

What if, when the call came in, it was bad news? Nope, he refused to think that way.

"Hello?" the female voice answered on the other side. "Um, I'm calling about a poster I saw at the grocery store. The one on 3rd and Brandon."

Liam's heart began to beat a little faster, reaching down he scratched the ear of the brown dog lazing next to him. "Yes? What about it?"

"Well, funny story," she laughed, "I was on my way to post my own flier, when I saw it. I think I have your dog."

"My dog?" Liam perked up with that detail. Sitting up straighter, he nodded eagerly. Dumbass, she can't see you nod. "Are you sure? Are you sure it's her?"

"Well, I haven't saw many dogs who look like her." she added with a small chuckle. "In the poster, it says she has a pink collar with her details. I think she must have lost it, other wise I would have called before this. Um, do you want me to bring her to you? We can meet somewhere, maybe?"

"Uh, yeah." Liam nodded again, his hand running through his sandy blond hair. "The park just off of Denton, do you know it?"

"The one along the water, of course I know it." she insisted. Who didn't it? It was one of the most used parks in the city.

"Good. I can meet you there in two hours?" Liam asked, holding his breath for her reply.

"Two hours, no problem." she agreed to the time and place.

Ending the call, he groaned, he should have asked her name. Or at the very least given her the dog's name. Two hours, in just two short hours, all of his panic and worries that had plagued him for the last two days would all be over. Flopping back onto the couch, Liam sighed, it felt like a weight had been lifted from his chest.

Giving the dog next to him a happy scratch under the chin, Liam smiled. "Okay, Tani, what do you say I go bring your goofball sister home?"

Blinking at him, the dog yawned and tucked her head back down, closing her eyes. Clearly not everybody missed Dora as much as Liam had.

It was almost at the two hour mark, when Shelby arrived at the park with the adorable, big, and slightly awkward looking off gray dog. Two days ago, when the dog wandered into her yard, Shelby had been smitten with the cute face, immediately taking her in.

Sitting on a bench, not far from the main entrance to the park, she silently wished she had asked the man where to meet him. He'd sounded so happy to hear about his dog, the fine details had slipped through the cracks of the call. Ah well, he knew what dog he was looking for, how hard would it be for him to find them?

Laying next to the bench, the dog that Shelby had began calling "Misses", yawned and yelped a little, enjoying the sunshine and the slight breeze that rustled the leaves in the trees above. Shelby was going to miss the dog, more so her own dogs were going to miss their new friend as well.
