Tyler sat in his room feeling numb. He heard his phone make a noise to signify someone had just texted him. "Oh it must be Josh," he said at first but stopped himself when Blurry added in, "probably isn't though. It's most likely just your mom or something." Tyler closed his eyes, feeling pathetic, "You're right." Blurryface smirked, "Good boy, of course I'm right."
Tyler looked at the new cuts Blurry had just made on his thighs. "I could show my family this. I could kill you if I wanted," Tyler said quietly looking over at the demon. To Tyler's surprise he didn't look shocked or scared, Blurry looked confident as always. "Yeah but you won't. You'll show your family then what? Say 'oh this scary demon did it I couldn't stop him'," Blurryface laughed, "You'll be locked up in crazy house in no time. Then what would Joshy think?" Tyler went to go say 'anything is better than being under your control' but then he brought up Josh. The discussion was over, and Blurry had 'won' once again.
______________________The next day Tyler sat in the same seat on the bus as the day before. He couldn't get much sleep due to the cuts on his legs which caused severe pain. He sat with his eyes closed, earbuds in, and leaning against the window. He didn't notice Josh standing and staring until Blurry said, "Maybe he should take a picture, it'll last longer." Without opening his eyes, Tyler asked Josh, "Is there something on my face or are you just surprised even assholes don't get enough sleep sometimes?"
Josh shook his head laughing, "No, it's just that's not how I imagined you to sleep..wait that sounded creepy, uh-" "I get it," Tyler interrupted rudely. 'I'm gonna loose whatever I have going on with Raspberry over here if I keep up this attitude' Tyler thought while he picked up his head and took out the earbuds.
"Listen, what I say may come off as rude, and that's only because it is rude," Tyler said bluntly but this earned a laugh from Josh. Tyler looked over at the blue haired boy and took a second to admire..well simply just admire Josh Dun. He couldn't help it, he never had someone so comfortable around him before, not even his own family would have laughed at that.
"Oh hey, you, uh, didn't text me back yesterday," Josh finally said, "I mean like you didn't have to! I was just wondering if my message went through...b-because sometimes-"
"Oh sorry, I lost my phone for a while and couldn't find it until this morning," Tyler made up an excuse as if lying was as simple as the truth. "Wow you're getting good at this. Maybe you really don't need me at all," Blurryface mocked trying to get Tyler to acknowledge his existence.Tyler started to get this feeling he hadn't experienced sense he was a little kid. His heart left like it was doing flips, he felt like he was gonna throw up, and his hands tried to find something to hold onto. This wasn't a bad thing at all in Tyler's opinion, actually this was just what he needed. A good old fashion crush. Now, Tyler always did like girls but sometimes there would be a boy in his life he couldn't help but want to be with. Tyler knew there were all types of sexualities nowadays he could label himself under, but honestly he didn't care enough to do so. With the reputation Tyler has, the likeliness of someone actually going out with him was low.
They got off the bus together and Josh noticed how several people kept looking. Sure he knew he was walking with someone who could kill him if he really wanted to, but all Josh could think was how everyone should really mind their own business. The two unlikely friends kept talking about music and their opinion on anything related to the topic. Josh just couldn't figure out why everyone was so scared of Tyler, he seemed nice. For the love of God, this kid was wearing floral! How could anyone think he is out for blood?
They went their own separate ways once they got into the building. Josh walked to his locker, his mind filled with thoughts of Tyler and how he could spend hours just talking about anything with him. The way he looks at Josh while he speaks like that's the only thing in the world that matters. The blue haired boy smiled to himself while he got his books out his locker. The smile faded once his friend, Halsey, came up and said,"Hey. I think it's really cute how you are 'taming the beast' but you really should be careful." Josh rolled his eyes, "I'm not 'taming' anything. Everyone just has him wrong. He really is a sweet guy...No one is giving him a chance and to be honest if that incident on the bus didn't happen I wouldn't either." Halsey shook her head, demanding to get Josh to see her way.
