Blake's P.OV.
Evelyn and I were lying down on my bed together. Somehow we had maneuvered from standing, to the bed. It was only fifteen minutes after she had told me her story about my dad saving her life. If I'm being honest here, I didn't even know what to think about the whole situation. I was just shocked really. What could I say? My dad always put other people before he himself. He was just that kind of man.
Evelyn's head rested on my chest, and I couldn't help but run my hands through her soft, delicate hair. I was on my back, and she was on her side, fitting perfectly next to me. The only thing I could hear at the moment was her slow breaths, and for a minute I thought she had fallen asleep.
"This is nice." She mumbled into me.
I silently agreed with her. I wanted to remember this moment forever, remember how I felt being next to her.
But I knew the nice moment would soon go away as soon as I told her about my mother. I didn't know what she would say- or how she would feel afterwards. She could be disgusted with me and want to break up for being weak.
I shook my head. I couldn't do this to her, to us.
"Blake, what's the matter?" I broke out of my train of thought to see Evelyn peering up at me. She ran her soft hand over my hard jaw. I leaned into her touch, letting out a slow sigh of exasperation. Better to get it over and done with.
"Evelyn, I called you here for a reason," I whispered quietly, looking her in the eyes.
She glanced over to the picture, then sat up as her warm brown eyes met mine again.
God I could never get tired of looking at her. She was so beautiful. .
"Okay, go ahead. What did you call me here for?" Her voice was delicate like a flower, and I inhaled the sweet, honey scent of her. Sometimes I wondered how even managed to be with someone so...
I rushed the thoughts away. Before telling her my biggest secret, I wanted to look at her- study her.
My hands instinctively reached for her hair, wanting to feel the soft tresses again. She let me run my hands through them, looking me squarely in the eyes. Her eyes were a little puffy and her makeup was a little runny. I noticed her face was blotchy, and her lips in a small accidental pout.
I found her most beautiful in that moment. Somehow she was more real that way. It reassured me that she wasn't just some beautiful angle, but that she was human. She had her flaws, but my heart sped up as I realized her flaws made her seem more real.
She had a cute button nose, and not just brown eyes but soft brown eyes.
Over 55% of the worlds population had brown eyes, but not one of those people had even a shade closest to the chocolate gleam I saw in hers.
I had no words to describe it.
A dorky grin spread across my face as I raised one finger to her mouth and her lips parted in anticipation.
I wanted to kiss her again, but didn't know if it was the right time or not.
Noticing the dorky grin on my face, she slowly blinked.
Sitting up, I moved my head down to meet hers, my lips just barley touching hers before she chuckled and pulled her face away.
The sound of her voice lit a fire in my body, and I wanted to here her laugh again and again and again. I had a feeling that I would never get tired of hearing her laugh.
