Evelyn's P.O.V
I'm honestly enjoying the new school. It's not bad, well besides the popular girls. But I really didn't mind them either. They seemed to like me for some odd reason. I had to admit though, Kelsey and her best friend Abby were kind of annoying. I mean, it was nice of them that one day to invite me to the lunch table, but it was awkward. Not having anybody to really talk too. Except for Blake. He was really nice to me.
Speaking of Blake, I guess we were kind of friends now... I've been at the new school for two weeks and we have been talking every time we were together in the classes we have.
I've also met this new girl. On my first day, I began to talk with a girl named Lily. She was very smart and nice when she wanted to be. We have three classes together. Environmental studies, Calculus, and Spanish III. We ate lunch together every day, too.
While Lily and I might be different from each other, she's a good friend. In fact, on Friday, I'm going over to hang out at her place after school. When she invited me, I couldn't have been happier. It was reassuring that I wouldn't have to go the whole year with being a loner.
I had a few other friends, too. Like, this one girl named Zoey. And maybe Dylan and Tyler... besides the fact that they like to tease and flirt with me every day.
It's actually kind of funny that Dylan and Tyler aren't best friends like Dylan and Blake. You'd think that they would be since they're just alike. But Blake and Dylan have been friends for longer, and they understand each other better(according to Blake).
Even though school was going great so far, the guys here were really starting to piss me off. Some guys I didn't even know, have came up to me and asked me for my number. Others, have asked me on a date. Luckily though, Lily has been there with me a few times they have and told them off for me. But I usually end up laughing because of the way she does it.
One time, when I was in Creative Writing class, and right before the bell rang, a guy came up and asked me for my number. Blake had gotten irritated while I was trying to tell the guy no in a polite way and he had told him to "Fuck off." It was pretty funny seeing him get annoyed and cuss at the poor guy.
I walked along the beach without any shoes on. I was in a sky blue tank top, and my jean shorts. My toes sank into the warm, grainy sand. The waves crashed along the shore wildly. The sun was going down and it was the prettiest thing I've ever seen. Living by the beach definitely had its pros.
"Hey, Evelyn!" I heard a voice shout from behind me. I turned around to see Blake jogging towards me. His chestnut brown hair was flopping in the slight breeze making my stomach churn with how amazingly attractive he looked.
"Oh, hey Blake. What are you doing over here?" I felt myself become nervous as he neared closer.
Stupid boys.
He gestured to behind him to where I saw Dylan kicking around a soccer ball, although he wasn't doing very well.
"Oh." I said, looking down at the sand because I really didn't know what else to say.
"So, did you want to walk around with me- I mean us." Blake coughed, but I had already caught his mistake.
When I looked up at him, his eyes were hopeful, making me feel giddy inside.
"Walk around with-" I nodded my head in Dylan's direction, "Him?" Blake chuckled before looking over at Dylan. It's not that I didn't want to walk with Dylan... Its just that I wouldn't know how to react when he flirted(or teased) with me.
Blake seemed to read my mind. "What, can't stand the constant flirting he does with you?" He teased, poking me in the shoulder.
Friend. That was a friend gesture.
