Blake's P.O.V

Everything felt perfect.

Christmas flew by fast, as well as New Year's. Evelyn and I had went to a party that one of her friends was throwing, and at midnight we did what every couple did; we kissed.

For Christmas I got her a silver bracelet that I saw at the mall about a month before. I figured it would be a great gift to give to her. Fortunately, it was. Evelyn squealed with excitement when she opened the box. She threw herself in my arms, and planted kisses all over my face. Usually, she wasn't the type of girl to do such a thing like that. But I didn't mind it at the time. I was just really happy that she loved her present.

Before I knew it, it was time to go back to my regular routine at school. Everybody had finished their finals for first semester projects and papers, and had turned them in with reluctance. Now, we were all just waiting around for our report cards to come through. I didn't know how my first semester of senior year went by so fast, but I only had about five more months until graduation. Five more months until I was done with high school. Five more months and I was free.

At the reminder of graduating high school, I thought back to the letters my dad had written to me. I opened a few of them up already, reading them when I was alone. My mom never mentioned the topic again, and I never bothered to bring it up. I felt sort of alone again, but at least I had someone to talk to about it. Evelyn, however, didn't really say anything after I told her my secret. I mean, after she talked to me again, and we went back to being our regular selves, she stayed quiet about the subject. I didn't want to scare her away again, so I didn't bring it up much. But it was nice to know that I could always go to her if I needed someone to talk to. However, I found that I didn't really need someone to talk to about it. After I had told her, it felt like a heavy weight had been lifted off my shoulder. I already felt ten times better because it wasn't something I had to hide from her anymore. I knew I should probably tell Dylan and Tyler about it sometime... but I figured why not wait until after we graduate. It would be much easier, because I would no longer be living with my mom.

Tomorrow night just happened to be our state championship for soccer. I wasn't sure if I was excited or nervous. I mean, we made it to state. I should be feeling ecstatic right?

As our last practice of the season ended, and most of the team was already gone, Coach called my name, something I realized I was going to miss.

"Carter!" He shouted in his loud and active voice. I quickly threw my shirt on over my head, and grabbed my backpack from the locker. I quickly walked over to where he stood, shifting from foot to foot.

"Yeah Coach?" I mumbled lethargically, not sure if what he had to say was good or bad. He stood in the exit way, blocking me from leaving.

Coach could be intimidating at times because of his looks, but he was really a nice and genuine guy if you forgot about his appearance and focused on his personality.

"Have you thought about if you're going to be playing soccer in college or not?"

His question threw me off guard a little. I didn't expect that was what he was going to ask me.

"Of course I am." I replied. He seem satisfied with my answer, because he nodded in approval.

"Well it's your lucky day tomorrow then." I frowned, confused on what he was saying.
