Blake's P.O.V

"You kissed Evelyn?" Dylan shouted out loud, causing me to quickly throw my hand over his mouth. He grunted in response.

"You don't have to shout it." I whispered.

I groaned as Dylan licked my hand childishly. I wiped his germs on my shorts, and looked at him in disgust.

"Fuck, your hand tastes horrible. When was the last time you washed it?" He wiped his mouth and tongue on his shirt as I smirked at him in response.

We continued to walk around the small surf shack.

"So, let me get this straight," Dylan started, continuing our previous conversation, "you just kissed her... then ran away like a little pussy?"

I rolled my eyes, even though that was exactly what I had done.

I chickened out.

One minute everything was perfect, then the next I was pushing her away as a reflex. I had one goal, and that was to graduate high school without getting people involved in my drama at home.

I felt like a dick.

I was a dick.

"I don't need you tell me how much of a shitty move I made." I responded, focusing my attention on an expensive pair of sunglasses.

Walking around for a few more minutes, Dylan and I were about to leave the shack when a tap was felt on my shoulder. I turned around to be met by a familiar blonde girl with flame filled blue eyes.

"Hey, it's Lily right?" Dylan asked, his eyes roaming over her petite body frame. I rolled my eyes. It was such a typical Dylan move to hit on any girl who was a foot away from him.

I turned my attention back to her, wondering why she was angry at me exactly.

Snapping her gaze back to me, she resumed her glaring. "How could you?"

Confused, I gestured for her to go on.

Sighing in frustration, she placed her hands on her hips like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

Well it wasn't. At least not to me.

"How could you do that to Evelyn? Just lead her on like that after you kissed her. I swear, all you guys are the same. Not once do you think about girls' feelings..."

Dylan chuckled next to me as Lily rambled on and I groaned. Yet another person to tell me I was a dick. How did she even find me here?

It was hard to explain why I ran away when I had no idea exactly myself.

I knew Evelyn didn't deserve that. Hell, she didn't deserve me after the way I reacted.

Running a hand through my hair, I knew I was scared. Scared of involving someone as great as Evelyn with my shit baggage.

Shaking my thoughts away, I noticed Lily still rambling on and people staring at her strangely. Grabbing her elbow, I guided her outside onto the pavement. She tried to untangle herself from my grasp, but I was much stronger than her small frame.

Away from the crowd of people, I let her go, only for her to punch me in the arm. Hard.

"What the hell was that for?" I narrowed my eyes at her while grabbing my left shoulder. She may have been tiny but the girl had a punch on her. Behind me, Dylan bursted into fits of laughter like getting punched in the arm was the funniest thing in the world to him.

"Blake, I didn't think you were this much of a jerk, but leaving my best friend like that.. is, is wrong!" Lily shook her pointy finger at me, scolding me.
