Blake's P.O.V

"Hey Dylan!" I called out to my best friend. I walked over to where he stood by his black Suburban.

"Hey Blake, how was your weekend?" He asked me.

"Oh, you know, the usual. Just practicing for soccer tryouts."

It was partially the truth. I was practicing soccer for the most part of my weekend. The other times, I was cleaning the house since my mom never bothers to.

"Don't stress about it, you'll make them, and captain. You've made both since freshman year." He gave me a pat on the back for reassurance.

"Thanks," I told him, although my confidence didn't boost.

Just then, a car pulled up right next to Dylan's.

Oh great. Here they come. Kelsey Adams and Abby Taylor. They were the two most popular girls in our grade, maybe our school. They hung out with us all the time. I found it kind of annoying, but Dylan didn't mind considering he thought of himself as a "ladies man."

"Hi Dylan, hi Blake!" Kelsey squealed as she slammed her ridiculously overpriced car door. On the other side, out stepped Abby. She gave me a flirtatious wink. I nodded my head towards her, not really caring.

They both came over to give us hugs. Which, they do to almost any guy they think is worthy of a hug from them.

I examined over their outfits today. Kelsey wore a light(tight fitting) pink blouse with her normal pair of(short) jean shorts. Abby had on an orange spaghetti strapped dress, that flew down to the middle of her thighs and was a little too small at the bust.

I would blame their outfit choice on the Florida weather, but I've known them since sixth grade, they would always dress this way.

"Well would you look at the time. Class starts in five minutes..." I said to them. Honestly, I didn't want to talk to them right now. They irritated me, but I'm not the type of person to just straight up and tell them that.

"Bye Blake! See you in second hour!" Kelsey called to me once I was turned around and headed for the school entrance. I waved at her in return.

"So I hear that we're supposedly getting a new girl here on Wednesday." My other friend Tyler told me.

"That's cool." I said to him, not really interested. We were at lunch right now, and as usual, our table was mostly full. Only about two seats weren't.

"You don't get it. This girl is supposed to be really hot." I arched an eyebrow at Tyler, confused on how he would know that.

"And how would you know that?" Dylan questioned him as if he had been reading my mind.

Tyler rolled his eyes at us.

"Because my dad's the owner of the local real estate agency and I overheard him talking to his friend that the new worker was a woman who had one daughter who's our age and a son who's a sophomore." We all looked at Tyler and, this time, rolled our eyes at him.

"So how does this prove that the new girl is hot?" A guy named Matt spoke up. Matt played soccer with me, and happened to be a chill dude who wasn't a player.

Tyler sighed in frustration. "My dad's friend is supposed to train her and my dad said that the woman was 'good looking.'"

"Wait," Dylan started. "Isn't your dad married?"

"So? Doesn't mean that he can't look at other woman. And my dad has nice taste in girls. Something I inherited from him." Tyler argued.

"Well it doesn't matter, because I'm not getting involved," I told them. "You guys can go after her. Except you Matt. You have a girlfriend, and you too Cameron."

Tyler, and Dylan both gave me a look which I understood immediately.

"You need a girlfriend Blake. You've been single too long." Tyler shrugged while taking a bite of his turkey sub. I blinked at them in response.

"Guys, it's been only three months." Geez, they were taking this too literally.

"Yes, and three months for hotties like us is too long." I rolled my eyes at Dylan's remark Don't get me wrong, Dylan and Tyler were awesome friends to have, but sometimes a little too dramatic.

We finished up the rest of our lunch talking about mostly sports. I headed to Environmental Studies, while everybody else went in another direction.

"Hey Blake!" A voice called out behind me.

I turned around to be greeted by Lily.

A smile crept onto my face as I watched her short frame make her way towards where I stood. Lily was chirpy person and always seemed to be in a good mood. We weren't really friends, more like frenemies. She liked to make fun of me, while I made fun of her.

"Hey Lily. Come here to tell me all about how cocky I am?" I smirked.

She stepped closer to me, trying to be intimidating. Although, I was physically taller than her five foot five inch frame.

I snorted.

"No, just wanted to tell you that our home work for envi studies was due today. Get it done?" She asked me, batting her eyelashes. But I knew better than that. She was only trying to make herself look innocent.

"Why you wanna copy it?" I teased.

She laughed in response.

"As if I would need to copy your work. I'm pretty sure I'm getting a better grade than you."

She flipped her platinum blonde hair over her shoulder before turning on her heal and leaving.

I watched her go, smiling to myself.

School was a great escape.
