Chapter 1
"Momma," Angel called out in her cute, little angelic voice. I turned to her with a smile, but it wasn't long before it disappeared and I froze on my spot.
Angel just said momma.
Holy crap, Angel just said momma! Oh. My. GOODNESS. That's her first word! I think I could literally scream out in joy. No, I'm not crazy. It's a feeling most people don't understand only until they experience it.
"Cody!" I yelled in a whisper, hurrying him over, from where he was. Well, he wasn't far. He was in the kitchen downing a bottle of water; he just got back from the gym with Jake.
"Yeah?" He responded with a smile as he jogged over to us. "What's up, beautiful people?"
"Angel!" I screamed internally and grinned. Cody shot me a questioning look, so I went on an explained further, containing my excitement further. "She just said 'Momma'! Can you believe it?"
"Baby, I think I believe," Cody chuckled while he sat himself down on the carpeted floor. "You know, because... Well... Sooner or later she's gonna learn how to say that word, too," he let out a laugh and turned to Angel. "Angel... Say dada, da-da," he slowly repeated the words.
"Oh, Cody, sooner or later she's gonna learn how to say that word," I mocked before sticking out my tongue at him. "Dumbo!"
"You know what? I shall make Conner the first to call me that," he smirked, crossing his arms and legs at the same time.
I laughed. "Oh my gosh, you biased dad! I can't believe you," I choked on my words a few times. He wasn't serious was he? Oh my God.
"Dada!" Conner started crying.
"Oh my God," my jaw dropped, "Cody," I paused again, "Conner just... He just... I think he just said what I thought he did," I continued gaping at him, my eyes slowly growing bigger each second.
Cody hopped onto his feet and started doing his happy dance, like the other time. Oh, Cody. Him and his silliness. But hey, don't judge! He's cute like that. And he's just him. That's why I love him.
Smiling, I stroked Angel's blond, wavy hair. Her hair was like Cody's. Blond and wavy, extremely smooth, too.
After a moment of silence, she surprised me again, causing me to gasp. "Dada."
"Ah! That's a double round of victory dance!" I swear he was close to giggling, but he chose to cover that up by coughing. Which meant he still continued doing his retarded dance. Honestly, he looked like he was doing the chicken dance, but, he didn't need to know that.
Angel giggled on my lap and rested her head on my chest.
"Hey baby, you sure love talking today, don't you?" I asked, and kissed her forehead.
She giggled again.
"Cody, enough dancing! Bring Conner here," I urged him using my hand to shoo him off to Conner's play corner. Also, if he didn't stop dancing, he was gonna cry when he woke up tomorrow.
Hypocritically saying, he wasn't bad at dancing. He was an amazing dancer. Again, he didn't need to know that! He already knows, anyway.
When he came back, Cody carried Angel into his arms, and I got Conner onto my lap.
"Aye, Conner," I shot my son a warm smile, "I'm sure you're gonna be as talented as your daddy," I bounced him up and down on my lap and he smiled, which was cute considering his teeth hadn't grow.
He snuggled into me and I wrapped my arms around him tightly, yet in a gentle way.
"Angel," I heard Cody say, "Did you just... Poop?" He straightened his arms before him and held Angel as far as possible, away from his chest.
"Cody, you're her dad. I think it's time I taught you how you to put a diaper on the kids," I furrowed my eyebrows and gently placed Connor down on the sofa before standing up and carrying him again.
"Can't wait," he gulped, staring at me with fearful eyes. "Let's go, then," His voice cracked.
We walked into the twins' room after, what seemed like a flight of stairs which went on forever and we laid the babies on their bed. I pulled out two diapers from the bag and passed one to Cody before pulling out the packet of wet tissues.
"Cody, you're gonna follow, aight?" I sternly said, nudging him with my elbow. "If you don't do it right, you won't like what'll happen to your fingers..."
His eyes widened in shock, and I giggled at his reaction. "O-Okay, um...go on."
"Okay, so what now?" He asked as he unfolded the diaper, "Just unfold the diaper, right?"
"Now, look at what I'm gonna do, and focus." I unfolded Angel's diaper, lifted both of her little legs up by grasping her ankles, gently, and used a wet tissue to clean her bum.
This part is what I hate, either. I mean, who likes cleaning feaces? Not me, that's for sure.
"Oh, goodness. It's green!" Cody looked as though he had just taken a purgative medicine and was ready to puke, but that didn't stop me from what I was doing.
Neither was he helping me.
I chose to remain silent, otherwise I would yell at him and didnt want the babies to get frightened. I think O just vomited a little in my mouth. It's normal, right? Please tell me it is...
"Sorry," he mumbled more to himself, but I still managed to caught it.
"Now look."
After I was done, I grabbed a piece of dry tissue and wiped her bum again. I placed the clean diaper underneath her bum and placed her legs back down, folding the diapers up, and joining them together with the sticky tape provided.
"Easy, ain't it?" I asked Cody with a smile, gesturing for him to fix Connor's.
"Hmm, yeah, kind of... So... I get to do the easier one, I suppose?" He asked me and I couldn't help noticing that his fingers trembled a little. I giggled in response to that.
"Yup. It's just urine.." I smirked slightly.
"Okay..." His voice cracked again. He started going according to the steps and it wasn't very long before he completed it.
"It's easy!" He fist-pumped the air and carried Conner up with a cheeky grin. "Okay, so maybe it wasn't that bad. I got overly-worried for nothing."
I shook my head, amused at him and carried Angel up, bringing her to the backyard with Cody in tow.
Our backyard was full of bushes, flowers, green grass (it's fake though) but everything was beautiful. It resembled somewhat like a miniature park. It was pretty. Filled with butterflies which flew around all the time and all.
I loved it to death. I bet I'd still love it when I was in my grave. All my thanks goes to Cody; because of him, I got to plant all these. I was about as happy as... A mouse who got a lot of cheese to eat.
I gently placed Angel down on the bench and Cody placed Conner right beside Angel.
I smiled and walked over to the rose bush, where it was full of yellow roses. How amazing was that? Wait, is that a red rose I see?
I stood there and admired it for a short moment, before I felt a familiar pair of arms go around my waist from behind, and resting his chin on my shoulder.
"Beautiful, huh?" I asked him, resting my arms on his. I let out a long, satisfied sigh.
"Yeah, but totally not as beautiful as you," he whispered before letting out a chuckle, and planting a sweet kiss on my cheek.
"Corny Curdy!"
"That wasn't fair," he laughed and tightened his arms around me. "I complimented you! I think I deserve a kiss for that, don't you think?"
"Well, nope! I'm your wife! I ought to receive all these praises from you," I joined him, laughing as I shook my head.
"And I ought to receive kisses from you." He said and spun me around to face him. His lips were puckered, and I laughed at his desperateness before giving in to him, connecting our lips.
